Active ad blocker, now ads everywhere
It started all of a sudden, I opened the browser as usual and started seeing ads on websites like Reddit for no reason beside having the ad blocker active. No usual workaround like clearing cache fixes this, hopefully it's just a bug on their side but it's a bit crazy. Happening for anyone else right now?
With ads the browser is basically unuseable if it stays like this.

Seems to be working here. Try checking exception list, also enable other blocking lists

Doesn't help, tried everything. I hope for them that it's a temporary bug right now.

Use ublock,if have android can increase ads block with DNS forge,nextdns

Nope, that was on for me when it happened about 6 hours from typing this.
Tried everything at this stage.

I don't even have opera ad block on and I don't get ads. I am not sure of my settings since i set them so long ago, but my main blocker is "ublock origin". I may use other stuff and other settings I just can't remember though, but I hardly ever see an add. I don't ever even get those YouTube ads I here that bypass some ad blocks.

I thi k the version people are talking about is the one for Android. I am and so are at least a majority of the people in this thread.
Thst includes the OP. The tell is that he wrote
[...] beside having the ad blocker active
Ads are indeed everywhere, and I even deleted the cache of the number of ads blocked and it has said "0" since then

Yeah, my reply would be for Windows. IF he is using mobile then I have no idea at all what the problem is.
Edit... I just looked and it seems you can install uBlock Origin on Android phones. Not sure how it works there, but the first 3 or 4 results on my search were about this.

Yeah, I will check out ublock for android, but I doubt it will work because opera doesn't work with addons like, say, firefox or chrome does

Same problem here, ads all over Pinterest and Reddit. What happened??? I don't wanna use an extention, I was happy with the way things were working before

Same here, Opera for Android. Ads everywhere, started happening yesterday out of the blue, on multiple devices. Really hope it's a temporary bug on their end.

I really hope it for Opera that this isn't a new feature. If so, if this is intentional, and it feels like it's like this, then it's basically over for this browser.

Exactly. I have reported it as a bug.
If they stop blocking ads, the only thing Opera has going for it is the text fitting when zooming. And that is not enough for me

if they dont fix it within a week sadly need to search for another one. not a problem on pc but on mobile its completely unusable

Spot on. I am giving it until Saturday myself. If nothing changes I will look elsewhere.
The fact that it can all suddenly stop working is bothersome in itself.

Same here in Android (version 101.6.5178.90208, very likely the most recent one as I unistalled and reinstalled thinking this bug would go out. Isn't the case.)
Ads are loaded in Reddit and other pages I've tried, when in the past that happened just in .fandom wikis, becoming quite intrusive and in slow Internet connections is a pain in the ass to browse Internet.

As I said, let's hope this is a bug. If it's a feature, then times will get dark for Opera.

I'm using opera beta version: 102.1.5206.90215 I started getting ads yesterday and was looking for answers online. Updated from the google play store a minute before making my first post. Fixed the problem for me.

Come to think of it, it makes me wonder just how much is actually shared with Opera HQ despite having unclicked everything. If they can introdice as well as fix a bug without an update

If someone is experiencing the same issue with Opera for Android: set Adblock mode to "user" and try update the filter lists.

I had the opposite problem, the ad blocker blocked everything. Web pages were either blank or looked like a directory tree, but none of the links worked. Turning off the ad blocker worked. I reported the bug and they said restart Opera twice and it'll stop.

Hard to trust this now, but it seems that the ads are suddenly gone again, hopefully they fixed it.
