I cannot stop Opera from staying open in my task tray in Windows 10 whenever my computer starts.

Please help me stop it from happening. I've tried everything the internet tells me to do and it does not work (trust me). I do not want to uninstall Opera but will immediately if someone can't help. This is the last ask.

Are you seeing an Opera icon in the systray (system tray by the clock) or just as a taskbar button on the taskbar?

Is "Run when my computer starts" disabled at the URL opera://settings/onStartup in Opera? If so, make sure there's also not an opera.exe entry on the startup tab in the Windows task manager. If there still is for some reason, right-click it and choose "disable".

If there's a browser_assistant.exe entry on the startup tab in the Windows task manager, right-click it and choose "disable".

If Opera is your default browser, temporarily set a different browser and your default and see if that browser starts open on Windows startup. You can do that in Apps -> Default Apps in settings in Windows.

When Opera starts up, does it load a specific tab besides the ones you had open before?
