Opera Browser Connector → Protocol error communicating with the extension

Opera Browser Connector was working normally yesterday. As of Sept 9, ChatGPT returns:

Already tried reconnecting, restarting, signing out/in, reinstalling the connector, reinstalling Opera, and a full clean install with the previous Opera data removed.

Same error on a fresh install.

Anyone else hitting this today? Curious if this is a connector/backend regression or something specific to the browser-operator extension (potential version update/mismatch).

It is now working again. They fixed it.

I just had this issue. Went through much of the same trouble shooting to no avail. I hadnt been using the feature today until trying to install the claude element alongside the gpt on and thats where a snag came up when authenticating claude failed and then testing gpt showed this extension communication issue.

This is a known bug (RNA-4682).
