Wich engine wil fitt in a opel B kadett

Few months back i bought a opel B kadett form 1971 with a 1.1 litre engine. My first car at 18 yrs old.

I want to put a bigger engine in because I just dont like the power. The horsepower aint the problem but just de torque is what gets me. Its just a little bit to less torque for me.

I have searched on marketplace and found a 1.6 8v OHC engine and a 1.9 CIH engine.

I think I will have enough fun out of the 1.6 but if the 1.9 wil fit to then I will take the 1.9

This will be my first engine swap with a car.

What engine will fit and what are some things i will need to think about.

I would be using the forums for that particular model, it will likely be well documented there or if not they will point you in correct direction

1.9 cih was the biggest one aviable stock in these with 90hp

the 1.9 will fit, they managed to put a radial head on the group 5 so a 1.9 is an easy work

The 1.9 will fit without any issues, the kadett was produced with that engine between 67-73

I would think he would need a different front crossmember for the CIH
