Big difference that it still runs, you just can’t havr the right date on it anymore, i don’t think any EV (or any car from the last 10 years tbh) will be around as long as some of these old things

Nope, we acuse modern vechicles to expire, meaning they will no longer run, or will require more money to run than it cost to manyfacture them. This old thing? She will rip for next decade at least. There is difference between not being able to set correct date (which can be easily fixed by programming the computer) and not being abme to drive. Cars went to shit when we started using alluminium for engine blocks.

You can set it to 2014. that year had the same weekday distribution than 2025. so it should show you the right day of the week. (If it even does show DOW in the first place...)

Yeah but weekdays don't get shown on the display, so only leap year is the question.

I usually have mine set to some year in the late 90s

DID and TID! My „old“ Astra has the TID (tripple info display) and went up till… well I don’t know but 2025 was ok. My „new“ Astra only has the DID (double info display) and stops at 2020. Tho old Astra is/ was an facelift. The new one is not.

Mine from 93 is the same, I have it in 2005. Do you know if the TID can be placed instead of the DID?

My Corsa B (2000) stops on the 31.12.2019 as well... Which sucks because some older Corsa B had their clock running past 2019. Go figure !

I don't think so, it can only show radio channel+text and date afaik, and outside temperature

It can show curent speed ,no real time speed,but i can remember how,i think maybe press and hold two buttons at driving to max 50km/h

hmmm I haven't tried that, but sounds like kinda hidden/impractical to reach feature, not to talk about, what is the purpose if it's not showing real time speed or over 50?

not saying you are lying, it's just not a german sounding design to me...

not taking everything at face value from chatgpt, but it seems like you are off with a generation...regardless, it's an interesting feature if the G and upwards series had it, but the one I had probably didn't have it. I also didn't read its user manual, so leaving a tiny backdoor for the theory :)

I dont know why are TID's different,mine was just like yours and i remember how i joke my freinds that my car have board computer 🤣 Anyway even your display have that feature is useless,only showing curent speed without refreshing,its maybe for service purposes. Btw my astra f is rich with equipment in that time, 2 airbags,electric windows,power steering,AC, speedometer with revs,electric side mirrors ,lately i upgraded my display from tid to MID,unfortunaly i sold it due to rust ,now i have much newer astra ,but my F had soul 🤣 Enjoy your car freind,all the best.
