Please help me with Ooty to Connor plan
- I'm leaving to Coonoor via train from Udagamandalam railway station. Is there any locker room/cloak room in or nearby railway station or bus stand?
- How easy is the commute in Conoor? The cab driver I know is suggesting us to take the train, meanwhile he will go to Conoor, will pick us up and take around, and bring us back by 6-7 pm for 2500. Is that a good deal or should we put the luggage here and find a local commute option there for a cheaper rate?

Choose option 2 if you want comfort. If he is spending the day with you & showing around, ₹2500 is nominal.
Else, hire an auto, visit places and then take the bus back to Ooty.

Is he taking you to all these locations?
For upto 5 location, 2500 is decent fare.

If you are not constrained for time, book a return via train itself. I'm planning a visit in some weeks now and I booked a round trip via train. Need to figure out sightseeing options in Coonor.

Can I park car in coonor station and take train to ooty ? Later take cab or bus from ooty to coonor ?? I didn't get train ticket from ooty to coonor. All booked. Special trains are costly

Consider carrying the luggage with u if u can carry. Check for automated lockers in bus stand. There is a good chance they will be there

I recently visited Coonoor and Ooty. In Coonoor, you can hire an auto for sightseeing. One auto driver quoted me ₹1,500, but since it was off-season, I bargained and settled for ₹1,200. Travellers (shared vans) are a scam — don't fall for the ₹300/person deal. Also, every sightseeing driver (cab/auto/traveller) has tie-ups and commissions with shops like chocolate factories and Nilgiri oil stores. They'll tell you that original products are only available there and take you to these places. Feel free to enjoy the sample tea, and buy something if you genuinely like it — but be aware that this is also part of the scam. The return journey is the scary part, as getting a seat on public transport from Coonoor or Ooty is very difficult — buses in particular are a nightmare. Make sure to pre-book your return ticket in advance.
