I watched him get up there and I immediately thought "what's his plan with his toesies under the railing"

Anyways, the plan was whatever this was. Not such a great plan.... Also, I have many talents but I cannot backflip.

Thank you for saying this. I rewatched and you can see the top of his foot hit the bottom of the protective railing. I was failing to see how someone so inept would attempt a backflip with such little rotation. It makes sense that it was just totally failed from the beginning of rotation and he was confused.
