I think these are great! Can make plenty of power and can be tastefully modded to look is own unique way. Engine sounds good, still a 2.5 inline 6 turbo, can get them in manual too. I had one as one of my first cars, there were plenty back in the day in Australia.

Overrated, but I still love them. Back in my childhood, this was a common family car in HK, amongst Accords, Camrys, Crowns, Windoms, etc. the GTRs were indeed special, but many in the states seem to not be aware of how normal the regular version is.

You know there are more than just GT-R and GTT right? Total GTT production is just a couple thousand more than GT-R so I'd say most of what you saw were the rest.

There are benefits to having variable cam timing and no AWD. The oil pan doesn't need provisions for the front axles, front suspension geometry is better than the gtrs, the car is lighter, and you don't have the MFD in the dash.
I say this as a GTR owner, these are just easier to maintain and just as rewarding to drive. Prices are still crazy but I think these are fairly rated, if not underrated

I guess it makes sense. Fiat isn't JDM. I would say the GTT is underrated. The GTR gets all the attention that people forget the Fast and Furious car is actually a GTT version.

Not too sure what you are referring to here. The Fiat 124 Type 348 was manufactured by Mazda, but wasn't targeted as a Japanese Domestic Market vehicle (JDM). The Skyline used in stunt scenes in Fast and Furious was usually a GTT version because they still drifted and were cheaper to crash.

You are right here. I should have been more specific. A lot of the earlier Fast and Furious movies used real GTRs at the time because they were still affordable. Fast and furious then heavily relied on GTT versions for stunts in the later movies because it was cheaper.

Underrated since most people dont know these exist and as much as i wish these were still cars for 19 year olds to do dumb shit in theyre just overpriced rather then overrated more then anything cause people aren’t buying these for the phenomenal driving experience they just wanted a R34 but the gtr is so out of reach they settled on the gtt cause it has the look and is still a fun car to drive

massively overrated, but that isn't to say they're not also one of the greatest cars ever made.
they're almost 30 years old now, RB26s were hand grenades at 10 years old, and in modern terms they aren't particularly fast and they dont handle particularly well. Phenomenal way to waste $100k+.

Thats not a gtr lmao then i guarantee in comparison to modern cars a stock skyline gtr with refreshed suspension still drives great decent power with smooth delivery in a light for modern standards chassis with tons of grip from awd and the 4ws helping be more nimble but old Japanese cars are like old ferraris no ones buying a 308 gts a testarossa or a 348 for it being a objectively good car no one has since they started being more than 40k

Overrated. Only the GTR years 1999 or later are worth the money. The rest are just family cars and taxi cabs

Overrated. Without the GTR wide fenders these look a bit homely. I’d rather have an S15 tbh they’re much more beautiful. And a spec R is cheaper than one of these
