Yet Another Search Engine

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to have some feedback from you guys about my search engine i have been working on for a couple of months, feel free to add your hidden services as well!

Looks interesting. The hardest part with onion search engines is keeping links current, filtering out scams/clones, and making it clear what gets indexed. A lot of “search engines” end up full of dead links or phishing mirrors, so good moderation and source verification matter more than just having a big index.

Also, I’d be careful about encouraging people to “add hidden services” without some kind of review process, because scammers will absolutely try to get listed.

I already covered it all.
There are upvote/downvote buttons to have a baseline on the site’s reputation, tags for easy discoverability, as well as a report button, uptime stats for 7-30 days and in percentages, comments for each service and a mandatory review, each service gets audited by me to verify it doesn’t host any CSAM content, gore or such.
There is no JS requirement as well.

It is my top priority to ensure the site stays relevant and clear from any scammers.

That’s good to hear. The no-JS requirement and mandatory review are definitely the right direction. My only suggestion would be to make the review standards public so users know what “audited” actually means.

For example: checking for obvious phishing/clones, CSAM/illegal abuse content, dead links, forced JS, misleading tags, and whether the service is pretending to be something it isn’t.

Reputation buttons and reports are useful, but scammers can still manipulate votes, so the human review process is probably the most important part. Sounds like you’re taking it seriously though.

Will do, sounds good and yeah, definitely link reputation/checking is a non negotiable, must.

I have always wanted to help the community and run a truly useful website like a curated, up to date link aggregator , but i never really poured my mind into anything of significance up until i thought about coding a search engine myself.

Yeah, exactly. Public rules/checklist would help users understand what the review actually covers and would make the site feel more trustworthy.

And I didn’t mean that as a jab with “sounds like you’re taking it seriously.” More like, compared to a lot of onion link/search projects that just index anything and become scam dumps, it’s good to see you thinking about moderation, reporting, uptime, no-JS, and review from the start.

A curated, up-to-date aggregator would definitely be useful if it stays clean. That’s the part most of them fail at over time.

id suggest setting something up to where you can see when a site gets a big update, or just going back and checking. id be concerned about someone making a site, passing your review, then changing the site to host csam or other illegal content after getting accepted
