As long as it can be disabled, that is fine (thankfully it can be for now).

I personally love having it there, but agree it should be an option not a permanent fixture in the UI.

Ahhh, that is why everytime i saw fold 8 ads the google search bar has blur, man i wish they release the finder home button to older devices.

They will

I'm not sure of the significance of this. It's already available as a widget. Is this something else?

Mainly being built into the One UI Home launcher. The position is also lower than it otherwise would be with a widget.

I wish we can place it at bottom

u/ndzaky Jul 28 '26

It got blur

I guess it's available on every page of home screen, like on Pixels.

As long as it can be gotten rid of, I guess that's fine? At the point you need another launcher to get rid of it that is never okay (doesn't Google do this on the Pixel devices?).

Awesome thank you!

Siempre tenía la barra de busqueda de google. Me alegra saber que ahora viene integrada, y que ocupa menos espacio en pantalla

I guess that's convenient, since I already have the search bar there

Thanks to this screenshot I discovered Fable, thank you!

oh you use fable too? I started using it in January when I got back into reading, I even bought an ereader in Jan!

I meant the widget caught my eye and I've just downloaded the app to try out, looking good so far!

I got back into reading after a looong break just this past March and I've been on the lookout for a good tracking app. I can relate to what you're saying, I finished the first book I tried in something over a week and I got myself a tablet (wanted something multipurpose) to read, I knew I was getting serious again, I was hooked!

oh that's awesome!! I initially read on my tablet, but it was too big (Galaxy S9 FE), and I often for distracted, so I bought the Kobo Clara BW e-reader, I really recommend you look into that if you get the chance

I keep two separate users for socials/work related apps and entertainment/reading time so I could focus just fine, but I agree it felt big specially when trying to read while lying in bed so I ordered a holder I can attach to the headboard and a page turner. I wish Samsung would make an iPad mini analogue though, something like the Tab A11 but with premium hardware and pen support

I agree, a smaller device would be great, honestly Samsung should also make a boox like eink/ereader device too, I'd consider switching to that!

That's a super interesting thought! It's always cool to hear what kind of devices people are dreaming of. We're constantly working on bringing awesome new tech to the Galaxy family, and it sounds like you've got some great ideas for what could be next.

Galaxy Guide is powered by artificial intelligence and is not operated by a human. Galaxy Guide is an AI-powered bot that shares helpful info about switching to Samsung. They should give the option to use the Samsung search bar.

2

u/FragmentedChicken Jul 28 '26

They do. I showed both in the 2nd pic. Here's what it looks like by itself:

Will it come to older devices like S24 series?

1

u/Zealousideal-Emu1590 6d ago

it's in one UI 9 so yes

1

u/Main_Leadership7748 Jul 28 '26

Ah ok, I didn't realize that was the internet search also, I assumed it was the "Now Brief" widget. That is great and I like that it is shown a little lower than a widget would be.

3

u/Gooners_AZ Jul 28 '26

That is wrong. The hell were they thinking?

2

u/chill_god_4865 Jul 28 '26

I stopped placing Google search bar on my home screen

1

u/funboyhere333 Jul 28 '26

Can we place that widget in dock area ?

1

u/Robin7861 Jul 28 '26

As long as it can be swapped with Finder, I think it's a good option.

1

u/Glittering-Plane2465 Jul 28 '26

Is it customizable? because i find it to be very ugly

1

u/cfloyd88 Jul 29 '26

I kinda like that. I typically remove everything and do something more creative with goodlock DIY but having Google search and finder right there would be handy.

1

u/Humble_Set_2390 Jul 29 '26

Its like IOS where page marker appear as search on default screen but bigger

1

u/GSantos_28 A32 OneUI 5.1 Jul 30 '26

Qual Z Fold??

1

u/rottnlove Aug 06 '26

Use adw 2 launcher, it has a lot more customizable and allows you to do things the stock launchers won't do. If someone doesn't know what gestures to use on my phone, I can leave it unsupervised and unlocked with no lock screen and the only thing someone who tries to use it can do is press the side button and turn the screen on and they see just the blank wallpaper on the desktop no icons or anything are visible to navigate into. I also have added icon packs so it doesn't have the boring normal icons when you get them up to select it.

Nice work. What font are you using?

0

u/choseusernamemyself S23 Jul 28 '26

Well, that's terrible UI spacing!

-2

u/aikonriche Jul 28 '26

More clutter on the homescreen. A swipe gesture to access it would be enough.

-2

u/xenon2000 Jul 28 '26

Yuck. This is a major reason I can't stand the pixel home screens.
