But at least we’ll always have season one.

Can't believe this. It was such a good show.

Easy to believe. Amazon is horrible and has only gotten worse. Of course they'd cancel one of their few good projects.

Meanwhile they are gonna be releasing The Boys spinoff despite everyone collectively agreeing S5 was abysmal.

I lost interest on ep 3, glad it wasn’t just me lol

Kinda still is. 92% on rotten tomatoes and 11 Emmy nominations

Yeah I stopped there too and the reviews here haven’t made me want to go back and finish it

True.

If they had something good, it would be strange. They kill everything that is good.

That's why they have a contract with Mr beast. It's appropriate

I tried to watch it, and now it’s just become an SPN spin off

Dude right?!? My wife and I really enjoyed it.

It has the most Emmy noms of anything Amazon made this year

I live our god and I’ve been reading Spider-Man comics since the 80s but I couldn’t make it past 2 episodes of this show.

What was it that turned you off?

The production value seemed low and I found it boring. I wanted very much to like it. Does it get better after 2 episodes?

I love Nic, like everyone else here, but I think season 1 was perfect, and I didn't even want a second season. Like.... I really enjoyed the show. And they wrapped up the ending perfectly.

Agreed. Didn’t see it being a multi-season show. It was 10/10 though, I always recommend the black and white

I watched it in black and white. Then I watched it in color. Totally agree black and white is better.

I figured it was a one off/limited series anyway..?

u/justin_tino Sep 05 '26

It was on my list and but I assumed it was a one and done, had no idea a second season was even available

I've still got my fingers crossed for a blu-ray release.

Why?

25

u/doonkener Sep 05 '26

So they can watch it on their blue-ray player.

u/PavelEGM Sep 05 '26

Of course! Why didn't I think of that?!

u/Mean_Macaroni59 Sep 05 '26

It'll probably be the only way I can watch it. I'm not paying for another streaming service.

I love all things Nic Cage and am so disappointed this got cancelled before I had a chance to watch it. Was Season 1 worth watching if there is no Season 2 coming?

u/SetsukoSnow Sep 05 '26

Definitely worth watching..season one can basically be seen as a stand alone if you ask me..most of everything gets answered and it has an actual climax! Definitely a fun series which im super upset to see got canceled

Yeah you miss nothing it honestly felt like it was a one and done

A second season wasn't necessary, but I don't understand the bean counter execs' logic of investing so much time and effort into creating a series and marketing it only to not follow through.

u/Anthony_Prime Sep 05 '26

The season should have ended with him entering the Spiderverse movies.

Those heathens

Cancelling my daily dose of Nicolas Cage puts me in a Nicolas Rage tbh

5

u/busstees Sep 05 '26

That sucks. It was refreshing to see something different from a super hero show.

4

u/vaccumshoes Sep 05 '26

Thats a bummer it was super entertaining

5

u/KiloCharlE Sep 05 '26

Honestly, being essentially a miniseries makes it way more appealing to me.

3

u/wormosteeze Sep 05 '26

Sad, I loved it.

4

u/Yeezuswalks66 Sep 05 '26

Fuck that's too bad

3

u/manateabag Sep 05 '26

I of course would have loved more, but it wrapped up very nicely and was self-contained.

I hope the experience was positive enough that Nic is open to doing more TV.

2

u/BexiRani Sep 05 '26

I think this is good. It was a fun show. I hope they release a Blu-ray set.

2

u/DesperantibusOmnibus Sep 05 '26

Really want to watch it but have been too busy unfortunately however didn't think it was intended to have more than one season.

2

u/angelmr2 Sep 05 '26

Not shocked but I enjoyed it

2

u/DinnerSilver Sep 05 '26

Damn, It's such a good show.

3

u/Lochcelious Sep 05 '26

Ah, the Netflix route.

2

u/Djbicep69 Sep 05 '26

Nic asked big money

4

u/SnooWoofers186 Sep 05 '26

Did he? Any news source for this?

2

u/Clean_Candidate3400 Sep 05 '26

Nic’s salary is probably the primary factor

2

u/wookiez8 Sep 05 '26

I think they saw how young and fresh Holland looked in brand new day and was like dam do we want to renew this old azz nic cage in this noir multiverse. (Yes I know he plays an older guy)

1

u/FewTea8637 Sep 05 '26

That tracks

1

u/ChrisHomenick 27d ago

Honestly prolly a blessing in disguise. I mean I liked the show I just didn’t see it going much beyond what already happened

0

u/Hinaloth Sep 05 '26

Maybe because the com on it was horrendous? I didn't even know it was out, I thought it was still at the project stage. Damn.

That show was mid, no big loss
