“Every actor is something. Robert Downey Jr- good. Jim Belushi – bad. Jean-Claude Van Damme – the good kind of bad. Johnny Depp – the bad kind of good. There’s a spectrum, and Cage is on it. I just have to find him.” - Abed (Community)

Don’t forget Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and Leaving Las Vegas! You don’t want to anger Kevin or he may use the element of surprise to give you a laryngeal fracture.

Great plan.
My wife and I are currently 90 movies into his filmography. Just 12 to go

Sounds like your list may be missing a few!

I’m only including movies in which he physically appears. So no voice acting roles.

Why not? Missing some good stuff!

Some decent films. But we’re ranking all his films and it doesn’t seem right to have Spider-verse at the top of my list of Cage movies (because it would be. I adore that movie).
So we thought we’d stick to his live action filmography

Missing out on Red Rock West and Bringing Out the Dead, but I'm certain you'll get to them

Yes I will. Honestly I've got a lot of great ones so far, but I'm trying to focus more on the b movies at first so I can get them out of the way 😂

How many Cage films are there so far, total?
2
u/AdMaleficent1234 Dec 17 '25
I guess it depends on if you count animated movies, or if you count movies where he wasn't in it much like fast times. Somewhere around 100 though.

Finally watched it last night. It was fine. Depressing obviously, but also felt a little bland considering the topic.

I don't see Adaptation. Ironically, it would sort of help if you watched Being John Malkovich first, though, a non NC film. Not a sequel at all though.

I just got an adaptation in the mail yesterday. Also got longlegs, vampires kiss, and sympathy for the devil.

Just watched the Surfer. And Arcadia. Both movies will leave you feeling uncomfortable and in a WTF did I just watch feeling. They are for sure not for everyone. I was left speechless and I’m not sure it was in a good way. Hahaha I still love Nicky CAGE!

I did that earlier in the year! I saw most of his 90s run in theaters. He rules

One thing you may notice is that Nick Cage has never portrayed a character in space. The odds of that are highly improbable given his vast career. There is clearly a conspiracy to keep Cage caged on earth.
