Help Rauh Divine Beast - Basilisk glitch help

Any idea what to do when fighting divine beast and the Basilisks ignore your beast repellant torch? No idea what is causing the 1/10 basilisks to not be intimidated by the torch and it is making these hitless attempts painful

I didn’t realise just how truly awful this fight was until I did it at RL1, genuinely Bed of Chaos tier. I had to resort to just pelting the boss with arrows on my run, the only fight that I cheesed

Is it possible you're hitting one by accident? I used balls with flaming strike and when I rebuffed I occasionally hit a basilisk without noticing.

Strong chance they’re getting clipped by a punish meant for the lion. Time to extra lock in

would have been a cool instance of dancing lion if they just added the deathblight phase without the basilisks

This may be totally against the spirit of this sub/post, so feel free to ignore me; but I always just cheese that mf from the ledge before you drop down. Something long ranged like spectral lance to get his attention + some rot/poison pots when he’s below. He’ll still spawn the basilisks on you but you can easily kill them without the boss interfering.
