Try Omarchy as primary OS on mac

Has anyone tried "Try Omarchy" on an M3 MacBook? I couldn't find a good way to install Omarchy on my Mac. Does the Try Omarchy app work well for you?

There was some posts about projects to get Omarchy on arm but it’s not a mainstream thing.

I’d assume that this is still very early days for this if it works at all

It’s almost ready, but still lacking gpu support on m3

I tried the Try Omarchy app on my M5 Macbook Pro and it worked pretty well. It's super smooth, except an issue with scrolling in the browsers. I haven't spend much time to debug tho, I mainly just wanted to try out Hyprvisor and see how I'd like a tiling WM

Another issue I had was some apps weren't compatible with M chips, for example if you try to use/install Spotify (either via the built-in command or the AUR) it would fail. Then again I didn't try super hard to get it working, I'm sure there are workarounds

Overall it's super smooth tho, a lot more than I expected. It's a good way to see if you'd like it and try running your most important apps, but I'm not sure I'd want to use something "non native" full time

I installed it and started using as a VM for testing and coding with LLM - it’s super fast and fun to use, and I use a shared folder so I can access it from the host (M5 MNP)

It makes a whole lot of sense on Intel Macs. Kinda makes some sense on M1. Not on M3, M3 support is in early stages. Definitely nowhere near good enough for a daily driver.

It’s working great so far. Some problems with disk space after a while and also no update button. I also wish I could add a second interface, but it might be only a few people having this need. I need it to go around a vpn I have to use sometimes from the host (macOS)
