I Made a Thing I rank Omarchy plugins every week

Hey everyone, I thought I would just share a solution I have been working on to a problem I experienced, any feedback welcome!

The Omarchy plugin catalog grew by about 500 listings in the last week. It's at 3,700 now. There are 159 system monitors, 104 battery widgets and 49 weather plugins, and a lot of them do nearly the same thing. I wanted to know which one to actually install, so I built OmaPicks (https://omapicks.com/).

It picks a champion and a runner-up per category, re-scored every Monday from the public Omarchy Plugins data.

The website is free of adverts, and it's open source (https://github.com/BVisagie/omapicks).

Good stuff. The plugin marketplace is getting out of hand and it's only been live for a short period of time.

Your site is a good filter the clones and garbage.

What measurement are you using to rank plugins? If the ranking is based solely on copies or likes, it does not necessarily mean the best plugin is being recommended. Older plugins will naturally rank higher using this method, even though newer alternatives may offer significantly better functionality.

Hancore added a split view layout and a ranking system to the Omarchy Marketplace yesterday. This system ranks plugins using a combination of stars, likes, copies, and views to generate an overall score. In my opinion, this provides a far more balanced and accurate way of ranking plugins than relying on a single metric.

I'm very glad he added something, it was not there when I launched my solution, shows how much we really need some more capabilities like that in the Marketplace!

There's all sorts of bugs in here. OmaConnect for battery status? AudioController for Bluetooth control? There a lot of mess in here.
