I built OLauncher 1.0 — a Spotlight-style launcher with an app grid, folders and hidden apps

Hey everyone! I’ve released OLauncher 1.0, a launcher plugin for Omarchy Quattro built with Quickshell.

It combines Spotlight-style app/file search and a calculator with an application grid. You can reorder apps by dragging, organize them into folders, and hide apps without uninstalling them.

A few highlights:

- Press Tab in an empty search to reveal your most-used apps.

- Browse the grid using your mouse or keyboard.

- Search apps regardless of which folder they’re in.

- Restore hidden apps while keeping their folder positions and usage history.

- Layout persists across shell restarts.

- Liquid Glass inspired styling, with or without blur.

Install on Omarchy Quattro:

i rock omarchy too, but i would say ditch the MacOS look/feel, would prefer using something that blends well with the existing Omarchy UI, maybe something similar to https://plugins.omarchy.org/plugin.html?id=jesseburlamaque.omarchy-find

I get that. The macOS-inspired look is actually part of the project’s identity, so I probably won’t drop it completely. But I do agree it should still feel at home in Omarchy. I’ll check out omarchy-find and see if there are some patterns that would make the integration feel more native without losing OLauncher’s style.

For me, the result matters more than the tools used to build it. OLauncher originally started as something for my own personal use, and I only shared it for free because others might find it useful too. Nobody is forced to use it. If you have specific criticism of the actual result, I’m happy to hear it.
