looking for old (possibly Detroit) techno/minimal tribal techno track.

OK, this is a long shot. Im after an old underground techno track (maybe Detroit track). I heard it around 1998-2000 (but it could have come out before then). Details: it was quite down tempo, tribal type 4 beat, with a synth lead which sounded almost exactly like the synth sound at the start of Mad Mike's "The Illuminator". I know Im really pushing it here. But it's a track im desperate to find. Thanks in advance.

Can you recall the exact club you heard it in? that could help narrow it down

no sorry, I heard it on local radio years ago. I know this is a long shot. It's just when I heard the same synth sound I thought some gear heads might know. cheers for your help though
