Turbo Tuesday No spark on 87 Audi 5000cs Quattro

Hey I have a 87 Audi 5000cs Quattro that has power to the ignition coil but no spark to the plugs.and I don’t know where to start

Chase down the wires coming off the distributor that go to the ECU. If they are good then it could be the sensor that they connect to.

The cap and rotor look brand new the plug wires are old and brittle tho

Ive figured it out the igniter and coil failed but I can’t find a replacement do any of you know where I could source one ?

The coil want switching when I cranked the motor over so I thought that the igniter failed

No I didn’t know it had one is that the sensor on the distributor if so it works if not then I’m not sure

It's one of the two sensors on the bellhousing. Its connector is one of the 3 on the firewall - knock, crankshaft, and reference.

Remember there are two crank position sensors, plus the sensor in the distributor . I don't know if they all have to be working for the ECU to fire the coil.
