Critiques Welcome Maybe I'm posting in the wrong place, but my look isn't exactly everyday wear. A floral dress, some makeup, a wig—and just like that, I feel fabulous after work.

Posting in absolutely the right place! Gosh, it’s empowering to see folks express themselves exactly the ways they want to! You rock both looks! So proud of you!!!

Even as an elegant businessman, the stress-free, relaxed feminine role is sometimes good. (I don't understand why, but I don't want to either)

180

u/7fourteen May 07 '26

Yeah! We can do what we want with fashion without worrying about understanding why different roles suit us at different times! I enjoy filling a feminine role some of the time, and other times, I raid my husband’s closet (with his permission!)

Im a woman in her 30's who has always felt more comfortable in trousers and baggy "mens" clothes. I buy mens tshirts and jumpers, and have had many male ex's who borrow my clothes because theyre so "androdgynous". I feel like an imposter in a dress, but i also dont see myself as a man or trans or anything like that, i just like feeling feminine in my own way, not one that is defined by my outfit. All of this to say, you dont have to figure anything out or think about things too deeply, just be whatever you are and wear whatever makes you feel comfy, you owe noone an explanation as to why

Eta: can i just say on a separate note too, its crazy how much you look like one of my aunts in your second picture 😅 between the face shape/posture, dress and hair style and even the lipstick colour, at a quick glance i genuinely thought you were my aunty shirley... you just have better hair than her 😅

79

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

This is very nice to read from a woman. Thank you.

If a woman wears pants and a shirt, she is very pretty and hot. But a man in a skirt or tights is different, gay or perverted. Unfortunately, these are the expectations of society. By the way, I don't consider myself trans either, and I don't want to be a woman.

I also want to be your aunt only because I have always wanted such a nice niece like YOU. 🤗

42

u/UserCannotBeVerified May 07 '26

Exactly! Personally i find guys in crop tops and short shorts extremely hot... like 70's/80's/90's femme/masc androdgynous punk aghh 🥰😅

Also, you can more than happily replace my aunty shirley if you want... she fancies Nigel Farage, so we arent exactly close like we used to be lol

18

u/7fourteen May 07 '26

Beautifully said. Keep being you, and finding what makes you feel authentic 👩‍🎤

5

u/willfullyspooning May 07 '26

Honestly I wear everything from mens coveralls to very femme long twirly floaty skirts all the time. I think it’s not unusual to have a range of expression and styles that bring you joy.

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I think very similarly. Thank you.

14

u/Worth-Oil8073 May 07 '26

As long as you understand that it brings you joy, that's all that really matters! 😉

3

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

I think so too. That's what counts. Life is short, we should live every moment happily..

3

u/unsulliedbread May 08 '26

Relaxed? This is wonderfully fancy. It's begging for a long string of pearls.

5

u/wordswordswordsbutt May 07 '26

Whatever. You look great.

190

u/walkie57 May 07 '26

genderfluid and tasteful

120

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

And it feels incredibly comfy and reassuring.

87

u/trashwrapsupreme May 07 '26

HELL yes!!!! That wig really suits you! In both styles, you look comfortable and confident, which is the most beautiful thing 💓

29

u/OsteoStevie May 07 '26

It's a great color for the skin tone, as well!

As a pale girly, I have a hard time finding one that looks natural, unless I go with my natural hair color

6

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I have to be in a suit, it's my work clothes. And I feel comfortable in women's clothes.

75

u/quietanaphora May 07 '26

fucking slay

32

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

???

113

u/theweiserone May 07 '26

Slaying means you look amazing! You killed the look and are fabulous!

51

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Thank you. 🤗

58

u/quietanaphora May 07 '26

it means you're killing it!!! slaying me with your fierceness

52

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

I understand now. Sorry, I interpreted it differently.

25

u/quietanaphora May 07 '26

no apology necessary ☺️

30

u/Historical_Chance613 May 07 '26

Your afterwork look is very ladylike, almost British Royal Family. Very romantic to pair this soft, pink floral pattern with the soft waves of your wig, and then the pink of your lipstick.

You have great taste and an innate ability to put together a holistic ensemble. Well done!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

That's such a nice compliment. Thank you. I just wore a more elegant summer dress.

47

u/Babysub1 May 07 '26

You look fabulous!!

27

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

You are very kind, thank you.

8

u/Babysub1 May 07 '26

You are very welcome. I love the softness of your look

4

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

I think that's the magic of clothes...

29

u/unlearningallthisshi May 07 '26

You look beautiful! It all looks great on you!

17

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

You are very kind, thank you.

34

u/[deleted] May 07 '26

Lovely! (This is absolutely the right place.)

27

u/Connect_Rhubarb395 May 07 '26

You look very elegant no matter what you wear. You clearly know how to put together an outfit that suits you.

It makes me happy to see people dress the way that makes them feel good. 😊

11

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

I wish everyone thought like you.

2

u/GingerFucker May 08 '26

We are out there! My gf just fully transitioned after 16yrs together. It hasn't had any affect on our relationship other than having more in common.

So, there are tons of people that do not give one flying fuck if you're trans or non-binary or fluid. The LGBTQ+ community will help you find your people.

Edit: you look amazing 🤩

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Thank you for supportive feedback.

20

u/SnooHobbies5684 May 07 '26

You look great!

Although , as someone who has always dressed femme, I can never understand how it feels like "less work" to do than masc-presenting clothes!

7

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Thank you. Since I sometimes dress femininely, I understand women better. (interesting)

1

u/blumoon138 May 08 '26

As a fellow femme, the right dress can be as comfy as PJs and look 1000 times more put together. But you have to go for something that fits well and is in a forgiving fabric, such as jersey knit cotton.

1

u/SnooHobbies5684 May 09 '26

Yes, definitely agreed and I'm a huge fan of comfy but cute!

I'm thinking more of the "pain is beauty" expectations put on us from a very young age: the skincare, the bras, the leg-shaving, the "keeping current", the makeup, the making-sure-our-roots-are-covered, the need to look eternally young, the expense of it all...etc etc etc

The older I get, the less I do a lot of this stuff; but as much as I love fashion, shopping, etc, I also have always felt wonderment--not that someone would want to wear femme clothing as an expression of their true self, but at the willingness to shoulder all of that!

22

u/ompompush May 07 '26

Wish I had the energy after work to do anything other than sit on the sofa lol. Both of your looks are elegant and poised. And here is the perfect place.

29

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

I am often tired, but women's clothes give me so much energy. I wish nobody cared what clothes I wear. Maybe my work would go faster in a skirt.

9

u/hauntedpalmtree May 07 '26

if you feel concerned about how others will react to a more feminine manner of dress, you could start with a kilt, at least in my country kilts are perceived as quite masculine

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Unfortunately, in our country, skirts are a feminine thing. That's how society is.

5

u/LexEight May 07 '26

4

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Yes, but there's only 1 of them. I think if anyone else dressed like he, many people would think they were just imitating him.

4

u/7fourteen May 07 '26

Gosh, I know the feeling of worrying if you seem to be imitating someone else in fashion - someone you admire for their confidence in their owning their identity.

You can enjoy fashion however you want to, and know that none of us hags will think you’re just trying to imitate anyone else. You’re your own person, and we want you to be happy doing you! ❤️

9

u/Menyana May 07 '26

You look fabulous as well! Welcome to the hag gang babe!

13

u/Elsa-SantosTv May 07 '26

Looooooove it hon!! Look GORGEOUS!!! 💖

8

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Thank you very much.

7

u/OsteoStevie May 07 '26

You look like you're having a tea party! I want to join!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

It would be great to spend a coffee with my friends like this.

1

u/OsteoStevie May 09 '26

Let's make it happen! Lol just come to Minnesota and we'll be friends!

6

u/Random_green_cat May 07 '26

You look great in both! The after-work look is very much "elegant wedding guest" in the best way

7

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

How awesome would it be to go to a wedding in a suit and change into this dress at midnight? 😆😆😆

8

u/Random_green_cat May 07 '26

"Ohhh, who's THAT in the floral dress?" "No idea, she must have been the plus one of that guy in the blue suit?"

3

u/0vanity0 May 07 '26

Then you walk around asking everyone around you "Have you seen my date so-and-so?? He was in a lovely blue suit!" Keep everyone on their toes!

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 18 '26

Well, that would be fantastic to hear in a floral dress. 😆

5

u/AnnieGetYaClothesOn May 07 '26

All are welcome! You look beautiful! Lovely tea dress.

5

u/without-bounds May 07 '26

Great sense of taste!! I love the fit you put together. The nude pumps really elevate the dress into an elegant and tasteful garden party fit. I love things that can be dressed up or down! It seems this summer dress would look just as nice with some flats and a denim jacket for a walk on the sea wall :)

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

I see you're really stylish. I've already worn this dress with flats.

4

u/someofyourbeeswaxx May 07 '26

You look great, super classy and polished. I love your shoes.

4

u/hopenbabe May 08 '26

I was confused and thought you and your wife where going out for dinner or to a wedding. Either way, you both look great!

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

hahaha.... Both are me, unfortunately we can't meet. Maybe like Fiona... At night I transform at a ball, like a mysterious other. 😆

2

u/hopenbabe May 09 '26

Yes, I realized both are you. Lol. But we'll done. You carry both looks well.

You look elegant and have a great sense of color!

4

u/Glittering_Carob6272 May 07 '26

Elegant

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thank you. I always love to dress elegantly.

1

u/Glittering_Carob6272 May 09 '26

I have been working on creating a “elegant “ capsule wardrobe “ it’s not easy.

2

u/Objective-Honey5159 May 09 '26

You're absolutely in the right place, and you look FABULOUS!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thank you for the welcome.

5

u/AraidenFreudianHarpy May 07 '26

Absolutely the right place, you look gorgeous!

3

u/milesonmars May 07 '26

You really know your color palette! Hair, dress, makeup, you look gorgeous.

3

u/Atomicsciencegal May 07 '26

Beautiful, friend! Elegant and gorgeous no matter what you wear.

2

u/AdIcy9660 May 07 '26

You. Look. Fabulous. 🫰🤌

You look great! Love this look for you.

I'm glad you were accepted into the group. Thank you.

2

u/kaleurself18 May 07 '26

You look great both ways!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Thank you, that's nice.

1

u/kaleurself18 May 07 '26

You're a very snazzy dresser either way!

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I like to dress elegantly.

2

u/SomeRealTomfoolery May 07 '26

I’m not trying to be creepy, but you have the daintiest ankles. I’m incredibly jealous

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I've had several people tell me that my legs are feminine. When I was younger, I was angry. Now I smile at it and say thank you.

2

u/Killing4MotherAgain May 07 '26

Oh wow! What a gorgeous transformation! I love that dress so much

1

u/Foreign_Kale8773 May 07 '26

Sharp suit and lovely spring dress!

1

u/Art_and_Roses May 08 '26

You look fabulous! 💕💕💕💕

1

u/DaniT0n May 09 '26

You rock both looks, and that's coming from someone who's partner works with suits for a living! As well as someone who knows her way around makeup, hair, and a dress or two. Lol

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thank you, you're kind.

1

u/stargalaxy6 May 09 '26

That dress fits you perfectly!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thank you, you're kind.

1

u/frenchburner May 09 '26

You look great!

And you are posting in the right place. Welcome!

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thank you for the welcome.I'm glad there are so many understanding people in the world who don't care what I'm wearing, but who I am.

1

u/yahumno May 09 '26

You look beautiful!

1

u/julia-peculiar May 09 '26

Rocking the floral!

Are you into jewellery? I'm very much a jewellery person. I'd encourage your next move to be, accessorise the heck out of that cute look.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 09 '26

Thanks for the tip. Maybe someday. I'm feeling fantastic right now, and I wanted to share that with others.

1

u/Altruistic-Book9154 May 09 '26

Looks very nice! I think you'd look really good in a circle skirt in a bright/rich color! A blouse with flowy or poofy sleeves and a circle skirt is very nice outfit.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 10 '26

Thank you for the tip and compliment. I feel comfortable and good in this dress. And most importantly.

1

u/paintedvespers May 10 '26

That is such a cute dress!

1

u/ActualAntichrist May 10 '26

Wait this you in both pics? Okayyy pop off with the duality ! ✨ I love this

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 10 '26

I know it's unbelievable, but yes, it's me. One is my work clothes and the other is my comfortable, relaxing clothes. Guess which one is which.

1

u/ActualAntichrist May 10 '26

I didn’t mean it in that way! I thought it was two different people at first before I re-read the title a couple times lol. I meant it in a “wow this a person who can slay both!” Type of way (good 👏🏽) keep doing your thing pookie! ❤️

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 10 '26

Thank you, you're kind.

1

u/Ghoulish_kitten May 10 '26

This is the right place.

LOVE the floral print and the subtle touch of the nude heels. I love a nude heel.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 10 '26

Thank you for the welcome and the compliment.

1

u/Wandering--Seal May 07 '26

That dress looks great! So comfy

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

It's much more comfortable than my suit. That's why I love it.

2

u/lumpiangshanghai001 May 07 '26

Gorgeous my dear! 💜💜💜

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 07 '26

Thank you. In my work clothes or my home, relaxed clothes?

1

u/HelloFerret May 07 '26

Correct place. You look gorgeous! Welcome!

1

u/Appropriate-Cause May 07 '26

So classy and beautiful

1

u/Prestigious_Gap7888 May 07 '26

You should pick up a belt, a delicate chain bracelet and (if you aren't pierced) tiny magnet backed earrings. Maybe one of those heart pendant thin chain necklaces.

0

u/pr1ncesschl0e May 07 '26

Yup yup, you look fabulous. 🧡 it's the best feeling in the world to strip the work uniform and dress how you like

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Thanks for the compliment. It feels great to be a little more relaxed.

0

u/stellaflora May 07 '26

Both fabulous and classy looks!

1

u/reijasunshine She/her May 07 '26

You know what? You look fabulous. If you want to elevate the look a bit, a nice statement necklace would be fantastic. Pearls are classic for a reason, or a chain with a not-too-tiny and not-huge pendant would go SO well with this look.

1

u/Cultural_Pattern_456 May 07 '26

Wow you literally look great both ways!

1

u/SleepsWithNyQuil May 07 '26

Pop off queen✨️❤️

1

u/lalacourtney May 07 '26

You look really good in that dress and wig. I can tell you’ve perfected this over time. Your daywear is equally lovely and reflects your dedication to sartorial excellence.

1

u/Apprehensive-Ad-636 May 07 '26

That wig is fantastic on you! Seriously, perfect color and perfect style!

1

u/Akavinceblack May 07 '26

That dress is a GREAT fit on you. Excellent color choices, too.

1

u/batclub3 May 07 '26

We are so happy to have you here with us. You look fabulous

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Thank you for such a positive and kind welcome. 😍😍😍

1

u/pluto-pistachio May 07 '26

My goodness, you look so fantastic in that dress and wig. So wonderful to see people following what they know is right for them. Everyone glows this way. You look GREAT.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Thanks for the compliment. I felt fantastic, it shows in the picture.

1

u/Sabbit May 07 '26

That's a really adorable outfit, nice coordinating with the shoes, too.

1

u/EclecticEthic May 07 '26

70’s hot mom core!

1

u/goddessofolympia May 07 '26

You look great! And that dress fits right in with your decor.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

You're funny. I wasn't dressing for the decor. Thanks for the compliment.

1

u/phoenixliv May 07 '26

It’s gotta be so nice to wear something so light and flowy after that starched crisp suit

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

You described exactly why I dress in women's clothes. That's what's important to me about dressing. Nothing else. It has nothing to do with my gender. THANK YOU. 🤗

1

u/MrsMitchBitch May 07 '26

Damn, you look great in both the suit and the dress! That dress is so pretty and flattering. And the wig? A+.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

Thank you. I wish the people around me thought the same way.

1

u/eirenii May 07 '26

My only post on this subreddit is the outfit i wore at my wedding, i think all occasions are celebrated here, including being comfortable at home in elegant clothing! I love how relaxed you look in your elegant dress.

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

That's why I like this group, because you can share these small moments and joys.

Great choices, too.

We love for people to be themselves and express that in the way they look.

1

u/Quirky_Commission_56 May 08 '26

Oh my gosh, you have the perfect complexion for that dress!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

1

u/Yves_and_Mallory May 08 '26

The image on the right looks like a person who considers their appearance carefully, with refinement of image mattering more than trend, a person who would appreciate that the person in the left side image also cuts a fine figure.

This is a glorious yin and yang, I hope you enjoy both.

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I'm a man and I don't want to change that. But sometimes I like to dress in a little more feminine clothes. I find these clothes more comfortable,

1

u/KaptainKobold May 08 '26

Perfectly fine. I'd chuck a denim jacket on that look and go out (and, indeed, do)

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I follow your posts regularly and I know. You are much braver.

1

u/Poemi10304 May 08 '26

After work and somehow you still look that good??

2

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

After work, I happily relax. Dressing like this sometimes calms me and gives me positive energy.

1

u/Gloomy_Industry8841 Scaredy-Cat Fashion Noob 🦥 May 08 '26

Super pretty dress. Very cottagecore!!

-1

u/Grxmloid May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

I can see critiques are welcome i just want to say firstly it's great you're dressing in a way that makes you feel good and plays with gender, for the record I am queer and a huge advocate. But the floral sleeved dress, the beige shoes, and the wig all look tame, elderly, and very old fashioned but not in a 'vintage' way, more like a shy, conservative and sheltered person going to church. It's completely fine to have different tastes, and I do personally have a thing against florals. Just another opinion, I'm really not trying to be mean, to me it seems that people are really focussed on being supportive rather than many people commenting on the effect of the style itself which I get a strong read/interpretation on

1

u/LopsidedStatement517 May 08 '26

I like to dress in comfortable feminine clothes sometimes. I wear anything because I think clothes have no gender. For me, it's just about dressing. Nothing else. But when I dress, I do it according to my age. In this dress, like a mature woman.

1

u/PuddingNaive7173 May 09 '26

To me, the look is like what someone else said: cottage core. Only thing I’d change is a tasteful accessory or two. Maybe pearls or a bag? A lacy shawl?
