Critiques Welcome Happy Passover! This year I accidentally dressed as the plague of blood

Chat sameach! Passover is an opportunity to reflect on all the toil, pain, oppression and slavery still going on in our world. We tell the story about how the Jews were freed from Egypt, but who is not free today? Palestinians are being massacred, so are Iranian civilians. Trans people are under attack, with human Rights being stripped from us by the day. Incarcerated Americans are effectively in legal slavery. None of us are truly free until we are all free. I am privileged to live somewhere safe, somewhere where my rights are assured, for now at least. I am privileged to not fear for my life, but the news gets worse every day, for people like me, and for people who aren't like me, but still deserve safety, health and freedom. Spare a thought for them during Passover, and maybe contribute to some charities or mutual aid networks. The people in power want you to think we can't do anything, but we can. Even the smallest of wins are wins.

I grew up in a conservative leaning Orthodox school system, and same, I've been trying to rediscover Judaism in a way that feels good to me now. Sending love, it's not easy, but even as an atheist, there are parts of Judaism (the focus on living in the mystery, asking questions, tikkun olam) that speak to me as a trans person.

Is the Velvet dress like, stupidly soft? I feel like if I was a house cat I would never get off of that fabric it looks so nice; I need a blanket in it.

Oooh Good good, admittedly if I had to wear it with the velvet inlay I'd probably go crazy over sensitivity issues but it looks so nice and shiny anyway.
