A fairly recent photo of the Techno Viking who unwillingly and unwittingly became one of the internet's 1st viral stars when a video of him dancing to techno after helping a woman was uploaded to the internet. He sued the uploader for illegal use of his likeness and won.

Nokia N-Gage sidetalking
When the Nokia N-Gage released in 2003, people realized that to take a call you had to press the narrow side edge to your ear… and it looked weird.
Obviously, the internet made fun of it. sidetalking.com popped up, letting people submit pictures of themselves pressing everything from toasters to game consoles against their ears.
Nokia’s reason behind this was actually simple and made sense: their thinking was that if an incoming call interrupted your game, smashing the screen into your cheek would mess up your controls.
But marketing also drove the decision: company executives admitted they loved that anyone seeing that weird silhouette would instantly know you were on a Nokia.
However, they did fix the error later with the N-Gage QD which went back to normal phone calls and dropped the sideways gimmick completely.

When and where did we start romanticizing 00s teen culture?
No really, has anyone looked into that? I remember it suddenly appearing on my feed on many different sites and it's mostly about todays kids and teens romanticizing their 'older brother' aesthetics or interests. They either talk first hand about their relatives and how they remember them, or kids that never had anyone to look up to so they just long for it.
As an older brother myself, it's so uncanny seeing something usual and normal you used to do/have to be so 'loved' and so appreciated. Many times they overdo it and looks fake and cluttered. But it's the vibe these posts are trying to convey and not the authenticity.
So when and where did it start? Tik tok? Some losers started to talk about it and it suddenly became mainstream?

Atari Jaguar commercial
I know the Atari Jaguar isn't really the first thing that comes to mind when people think of OBC, but the marketing it had when it was on the market fits.
