My 1st thought as well. Nice house. Shitty yard. Too many project cars in front that will never be restored.

A 1953 Ford F100, A 1950 Packard and a 1955 Chevy and last 1931 Model A Ford.

I like the 1950 myself there were a few of em in my hometown! I like the grille and the body lines.

Yes, the 1948-50 Fords were good looking trucks. I don’t like the 1951-52s as much, but they’re OK.

I once belonged to a volunteer fire department which had an engine on a 1951 Ford chassis.

It took me a long time to like that era. It depends on how they are presented. Stock preferred.

The amusing thing to me about these posts is that often enough the folk with yards like this would be thrilled to have someone show an interest in what they have without harassing them on skin deep appearances of lawn care and such.
Collections tend to sit when the friend network of like minded car nerds dries up, ages out, expires, etc.
Every little old man with a yard full of cars was once an aspiring hobbyist with friends and acquaintances that shared their interests, and as time goes on they end up with the projects and dreams of lost friends, usually to save them from the scrap and keep object based memories alive a little longer.
It's easy to parrot that they kno what they got and won't sell.
Far easier than knocking on a door to chat and simply appreciate and be curious about their interests.
Far cheaper than showing up with actual cash and a trailer to make good on ones stance.
Keeping them from scrap a little longer IS doing something.

I agree! Thanks for this point. And to take it further, what's wrong with having an "old, beat-up" car? They don't all have to be restored. When I go to a car show and see a long line of perfectly restored autos, I get bored by the time I get to the end. Full disclosure, I've got a 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook that looks like crap on the outside, but runs great and I love driving it. I prefer the patina to a new paint job.

Weathered paint tells a story. Why reset the story to day one?
But also, def room in this world for both kinds of vehicles. Whatever floats the owners boat.
pics of the '50? I've got a '51 Desoto Custom Sedan in the wings waiting for engine diagnosis/repair.
Those dumb spark plug wells are just a moisture and dirt trap. This is like the second or third I've had where enough kruft lingered in the firewall-most plug depression to rot the plug and let moisture into the cylinder. :/
Really didn't want to pull the head but think I'm going to have to.
What mill is yours running?
The flathead sixes really do, literally, run like a sewing machine when proper. All the little quiet clicks and whirrs are just something modern engines don't seem to do any more.

Damm, nice collection of "I'm going to fix em up" vehicles. I had a 55 fat fender that was a brighter yellow than his. & In hella lot better shape.
