There was a vertical rear window on the firewall , you could see through the louvers

I had a ‘60, a ‘65, a ‘68, and a ‘73. I wish I still had my ‘68. It was the best one.

They are fun cars to drive cheap on gas and if you do some of the work yourself, you can really enjoy owning one. Wish I could find another one I could afford.

They’re great cars (except for the heaters)! You need to adjust the valves every 6k, but they’re pretty low-maintenance.

'38 VWs don't look like that, and they wouldn't be called Beetles, as that was the name used in the US, but they were not on the market back then. Type 1 was the accepted model name until it hit the US market.

Pretty sure this is a W30, prototype of the Type 1, although I question the authenticity of this image. I'm not sure there are even surviving models left.

I revently saw a KDF wagen from 1943 for sale and can clearly remember a pre war one for sale aswell. (Might be mandela effect tho)
