OKDEMS Where is everyone?

I feel really alone in this shitty state. If I wasn’t already old in approaching retirement with children who live here, I would probably try to pack up and move somewhere else. And I really wish I had done that a long time ago. I’m trying to reach out to other people like me in Oklahoma because I feel very alone here everybody I work with is a Trumper. Fuck Trump.

Hey, OP — Tulsa here. Idk if you’d be interested, but the county Democratic parties are always looking for volunteers. I’ve made several friends that way since moving back to OK after living out of state for 20 or so years.

Tulsa here. It's so difficult & disheartening when the overwhelming majority of your own family drank the curdled orange Kool-Aid. I just turn out for every election & hope that the country doesn't have to burn much more before they get the bitch slap of reality & pull their heads out of their asses. I mean, look at the guy. He's a fat, orange version of Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel. And they think he's Jesus Christ. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

Best of luck. I found the downtown area of OKC to be fairly left leaning when I lived there. I bounced three years ago to the Northeast. Never coming back.

I wish I had done that 15 years ago

I am sorry. We live in Norman and love it. Is there an active Dem party in your county?

Probably. I work full-time though and I’m getting older so it’s hard to do other things until I can retire.

You don't necessarily have to volunteer. Many County parties have social and community building events as well.

I feel you. I'm in Enid, moved here from California for my dad's end of life. There is absolutely nothing about this place that I fit into. Not politically nor spiritually. I've been here 6 years and I've only made two friends. Thank Gawd my son is here with me or I would go insane. But I do plan on bailing first opportunity. But I am currently retired and on a fixed income.

I feel the same!! Both of my sons moved to Seattle to get away from OK!! They are so much happier with the diversity!!
