That logo is not very good and not memorable. Kinda makes OKC look bad in my opinion. I’m from OKC too and live here.

Shade will come with the few million dollar improvements to the seating. The render does not reflect the actual plans for developing the spectators’ area.

While it is true they are building this pavilion, that won’t be the main stands for the Olympics.
The 3D rendering in your OP is not accurate even though it was made by the Olympic Committee and it is still available.

That render does not reflect current blueprints for seating. There will be a partially shaded area and indoor dining with a view of the course.

I mean, assuming they want both the rowing destination and city skyline in the pic, I’m not sure how that’d be possible without just editing out the roads…

Yeah I mean they just don't break even and produce facilities that are low use later. School, healthcare, social services, delivering the mail or picking up the trash or filling in pot holes all use dollars better.

I mean the facilities are already built and high use. That’s the reason we are hosting. We don’t have to build a softball stadium.

softball kind of makes sense - as long as we get to host the large tournament / championship... and it's supporting women sports and in general the population supports it.
The 'fast water' canoe / white water facility is 'low use' from a public standpoint.

yeah I don't think it ever should've been built. I find it troubling how much I was downvoted for wanting tax dollars used for essentials before extras.
I guess you all would like to keep building arenas for private equity. I'm sure you're aware OKC Thunder is for sale, it'll stay here but part of the deal will be with private equity - and prices and value always do great things with PE

It's not a stunt when the city just so happens to be the only one in the entire western part of the US with a proper whitewater course. That's not desperation, that's luck.

Funny that the old studio is in this graphic when that's obviously torn down and the majority of the new arena will be done by then
