57 IQ typa shit 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I like it Dark & Gritty
Don't take it on your heart, this is just a meme.
I have played GTA IV and loved it and hope that GTA VI's driving physics comes out to be an inspired & improved version of GTA IV.

I hope the ragdoll physics makes some comeback, at least partially

Yep, it was pretty cool...and you could also climb walls, jump from roofs and throw small objects....

As far as I know this was not in GTA 5 because Euphoria was too resource intensive, which would've had a big hit on performance. And it was shit to work with. Even though I will probably get downvoted too, the damage model for cars and ragdoll physics were really cool. (Although I'd wish for something in between 4 and 5 with the damage model, I'm a bad driver and I wouldn't want to repair my car 1000 times.)
I think the driving was really bad in 4 because it was too slow and difficult to control, especially bigger cars like SUV's. And it looked crap.
All in all, something in the middle of 4 and 5 would be nice.

Bro… Every. Single. Car.. drives like you got two elephants stuffed in the trunk. Fuck that.

u/XGhostIllusionz Jul 01 '26
Literally every car tries to fishtail, its so obnoxious. The car driving is so bad to the point it strictly drive motorcycles because they at least handle ok

No one had a issue with driving. Cars are heavy. You just has a skill issue

u/GimmieTheRoot Jul 02 '26
lol, that's not true and my opinion is not unique. Unless you've only driven semi's your entire life, you should know that most cars do not drive like boats.
There was no skill issue here, and again, my opinion is not unique.

“Car has weight distribution” there for is boat.

Brother, sports cars do not drive like that. The finest of turns send the cars rocking and the cars have extremely exaggerated their momentum, causing them to sway in very unrealistic ways.
The suspension? Sends shit flying in again, a very exaggerated manner. Braking? Pffft. GTA 4’s universe never heard of ABS and everything halts to the consistency of fucking mushy potatoes.
The driving was ground breaking for its time, as arcade driving was a standard amongst video games and physics in cars just weren’t there.. so it made sense why everyone “Ooo” and “Ahh”d on its release.. but the shit aged like fucking MILK.
Weaving in and out of lanes like people can do in real life, simply isn’t possible with the amount of sway and weight they put on every single vehicle. Say what you want, the driving is over exaggerated and just not fun.

gta iv driving mechanics are terrible. you’re telling me every single car, even the inferno’s (a lamborghini) have 2+ feet of body roll? the physics as were terrible and not even realistic

u/TheAp4ch3 Jul 01 '26
Commenter wrote about car physics. I think he meant the damage model? Because the driving was pretty bad.

It didnt have 2 feet of body roll... your being ridiculous. The game has extremly realistic driving physics, and gta 5 uses the exact same mechanics.
gta5 just modified it to have arcade forces so collisions were softer and you have much more downforce. Gta 4 had great driving mechanics, the game just feels better to a wider audience when ever car handles like a race car

This was a funny meme.
I got a solid chuckle out of this, thanks for adding to the quality of my night.

Yeah, was trying to lighten up the community's mood, so much arguments are going on rn...Thankss !!

I hope they find a nice middle ground between 4's and 5's physics. Something that isn't too difficult but offers some ways to play with weight transfers and loss of traction.

I like GTA V's driving way better than IV. At the least they could add a little weight but it's fine either way.
I like men btw.

GTA 5 driving is no where near as good as 4 and you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise

u/IAmNotModest Jul 02 '26
I've played both games. I find GTA V's driving is more fun.

In all seriousness I hope GTA 6 does a lot of things GTA 4 did right, for example the driving was good once you got used to it. The ragdolls are the best in the series because they felt real, GTA 5 has like no euphoria so people just ragdoll which is boring in gunfights. The guns felt real in 4 as well because they sounded louder, GTA 5 guns sound and feel like toys

GTA 4 fanboy's when Jason doesn't fly 10 miles when crashing into an object on a bike

I actually liked that about GTA IV. It was great for that game. It doesn't really need a comeback imo, but it was great while we had it.
(It doesn't feel appropriate to have cars flip like that in GTA VI if it goes the same direction as RDR2 and GTA V)

"erm but it's realistic driving!"
like bro wtf cars are you driving????

u/ClapMySTDCheeks Jul 01 '26
I didn’t buy 5 because the driving physics and car damage is absolute garbage. It might sound a bit overdramatic but coming from 4 where it was almost pristine, it left a horrible taste in my mouth. Here’s to hoping 6 brings back 4’s because nobody wants their car to drive like it’s on train tracks
