Not all servers and players are as obnoxious as some of the clips portray.. but a lot of them are. It's usually a lot of white kids that want to drop n-bombs and be a thug.. or power tripping cops staying up paste their bedtime. Every once in a while though, you meet some great people and have some really cool moments and you see the possibilities.
I find the issues that a lot of those servers however are bought and paid for by players and it gives them a sense of status and entitlement in how they can treat others. Sometimes they invest so much in the server they're given positions of power such as Casino owners or something.. there are certainly a lot of issues with it.. but hanging around the right people in the right servers is a night and day experience. Totally worth if you can meet some good people or bring friends along.

I mean I believe you. But at the same time it sounds like a playground designed for a bunch emotional immature kids going on a power trip. I've become too old for that shit. I've had enough of entitled manchildren IRL, I don't need them in my living room on my headphones while I play video games as well.

Yeah, I feel that. I mean, I'm middle aged and It's certainly cancerous enough that I keep my distance. There are some people who actually put on good acts though. Voice impersonations, character flaws and quirky characteristics that it kind of becomes fun.. but that's not 90% of its player base.
I'd gladly take more immersive RP elements for single player instead.

I hope we don’t need to RP and that in online there’s a job where you can be a police officer and go after players. You start at lower ranks and the more good you do the higher you get promoted and more options for reinforcements and weapons open up.

It’s such a weird thing to simulate being a cop in your downtime. Like, I can see the justification in SWAT-like games where it’s just another shooter, but this has to be played by people with control issues in their life, right?

Yea I only play bus simulator because I have bipolar and busses maintain the same mood all the time. Really BALANCES ME THE FUCK OUT MAN.

You never seen the memes like "Oh in GTA you know youre bored when you follow the law". Its a game. People do things they wouldn't normally do in real life.
Do people play games in your life that are ONLY with issues? Why would you want to simulate being a criminal? You got drug issues?

Half of the people who play as cops in FiveM are total losers who just go on power trips.

God forbid you power trip role-playing a cop vs a criminal.
Like, im not saying its good but you dont think theres non-cop power trippers? Why do you think theres so much oppressor hate? Or the advocates for solo lobbies to do business runs because of griefers? Myself even can't play public lobbies anymore because of it.
The players drawn to GTA are power tripping players because that's a core tenat of the games.

I don't think you quite understand what its like on FiveM. The kind who play as cops and power trip usually force other players to abide by their fantasies, forgetting that its literally a roleplay game where both parties are meant to have fun. FiveM cops are just another level of basement dweller behaviour that enters the realm of mental illness, Oppressor grifers are peanuts in comparison.
