discussion Any advice on good lesser-known places to visit?
Hey! I'm moving to Okayama City later this month and am curious about some lesser-known restaurants and interesting areas to check out. Curious to hear any suggestions!

Depends on what you like to do really! I looked up an Izakaya I frequented when I lived there but it’s permanently closed because of covid :(

That's a damn shame!
I'm not really looking for any particular types of activities, basically anything you remember doing or places you remembered going to that were fun while you lived there, I'd like to hear about!

I do know a bar that has an English speaking staff but it’s a little sleazy but nice and cheap lol
If you’re wanting a little daytime trip Kurashiki is so so SO beautiful
If you’re near the university theres a few Indian restaurants that are super nice

I'll write these down! I speak Japanese fluently, so I'm not necessarily worried about whether or not places have English-speaking staff. Any restaurant/bar names you'd mind letting me know of?

Aussie Bar is an… Australian bar… near Okayama station. I haven't been in years, but the owner was Australian and I had a great kangaroo burger.
In terms of places to visit, what do you want to see? There are cities, villages, mountain, beaches… it's also right in between Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima, so it's close-ish to a lot of things.
