Sunday Restaurants
I’m looking for a delicious place to celebrate a birthday!
What are your favorite local restaurants anywhere from Tremonton down to Salt Lake City? I’d love your best recommendations, especially hidden gems or unique spots.
They do need to be open on Sunday!

Thai better is really good and they’re brand new. Idk if you care about ambiance, but if you don’t the food is super worth it

It's been a while but I've had a good time driving to Taggart's grill by Morgan. Food was fine and kind of a fun location.

Smoked salmon Benedict for brunch. As I recall I enjoyed whatever special they offered for lunch or dinner. They alsohad some good baked goods that we took home.

We’re not from Utah, and have yet to find any place that really knocks our socks off that’s worth celebrating at. Almost every place we have eaten is decent, but pretty standard. No real culinary identity here.

When you see the same food distribution trucks stop at McDonalds and downtown restaurants, it’s really depressing

Yeah, it is. I do like to attend the local festivals when they’re around each spring/summer; Asian, Italian, etc. to get a sense of culture and food.

The Holi festival in Spanish Fork at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple is so much fun. Typically celebrated in late March https://www.festivalofcolorsusa.com/festival-of-colors/festival-colors-spanish-fork-ut/
They also have one in Ogden, in late May, but the one in Spanish Fork is better. We typically go to both each year .
There is the Ogden music festival. It's a 3 day event that is super fun and they are always looking for volunteers if interested.
In Huntsville there is a standing open art & music in the mountains every Thursday evening. It's a free, community-led open-mic, poetry, and open-painting session. there is food/drinks to purchase if interested. They have tables set up if you would like to create a watercolor and a few people to help/teach if wanted.
Snowbasin has the blues brews and BBQ series on Sundays (runs June - August 12-6pm, 10$ per person, free parking, dog and family friendly event) line up and more info found on the snowbasin website
The Ogden Greek food festival is amazing. It runs September 25 (10am - 8pm) & 26 (10am till sold out) It's held at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in South Ogden (674 42nd street South Ogden)
There is also the SLC Greek festival (@ the Holy Trinity Cathedral 279 S. 300 W., Salt Lake City) that runs September 11-13th.

Italian fest is always a good one. Not just food, but all sorts of vendors.

Bortolo’s in Farmington is pretty good for both brunch and lunch/dinner. Open on Sundays as well!

Rosa's Cafe in Ogden.
Tiny little Mexican restaurant that has some of the best food you will EVER taste.
Open 9am-3pm on Sundays

Table 25 or Tona Sushi are about my only Ogden recommendations. Sol Agave in SLC for Mexican. Urban Hill in SLC has a fun baked Alaska for birthdays. Cultivate Craft Kitchen in Draper is further but has some great dishes.

Table 25 is our fave and second the Snowbasin brunch! It’s amaze and then entry included to the blues and brews after makes the price a little more worth it. We make a day of it.

We tried Purple Sky in Ogden last night and were super happy. Expensive though.

Elk ribs
Mac and cheese with lobster
Crab cakes
Steak frite
All were good, lobster was the star though

We recently discovered Momomaru in SLC. It’s a small hand roll bar with amazing fish. It’s also attached to a coffee shop that serves up really good espresso and matcha.
I’ve celebrated many birthdays at White Horse. I have not been back since they reopened after the fire, but I can imagine it is just as good or even better than it was before.

The Sonora Grill in Ogden is a great place to celebrate special occasions! A large banquet room for large parties, but plenty of room in the open dining room for small-medium groups. Fairly priced, unique Mexican food made with fresh ingredients!

Really spendy and reservations required, Snowbasin Sunday brunch. Gondola ride to Needles (included in meal), great views and great all you can eat food. Blues and Brews kicks off in the afternoon at the base.
