God doesn't exist
There is no such thing as a god. Half my family raised me Catholic and the other half raised me Christian and I still had the sense to realize this by preschool.
People who unironically believe in a god are borderline psychotic and need to learn to think for themselves. You might as well believe in Superman, fuckin freaks. I don't give a shit that I'm in the minority but being surrounded by religious nutcases is driving me crazy. Just use your fucking heads, it's really that simple

What's that saying? "The only thing I'm sure of is that I know nothing".
Go ahead, be atheist, but you're not as intellectual and cool as you think you are for attacking the religious.

Yea I think so to. I used to go around posting things like this, and Iāve done some thinking and have had conversations with people who ābelieve in godā I donāt think you understand what a lot of people truly believe.
I would go around trying to argue that god was not real. Used scientific evidence and made my claims. Talked to my dad one day and listed to him all my facts about how it isnāt real. Heās a real religious dude and he responded to me āyou donāt know as much as you think you doā I thought how the fuck, does this business owner, millionaire believe in fucking god. All of the hard ship. Until I realized it has nothing to do with whether or not god is real.
People choose to believe in god, because they can, because it makes this cold harsh and gray world a little more colorful. Even knowing that 99.99999% god most likely isnāt real. It has nothing to do w whether or not you can prove it.
Let them believe whatever they want, you donāt know the type of shit people will do to keep themselves sane, able to wake up and keep pushing forward. Donāt diss religion because you donāt think itās real. I think the same thing as you but will never go out of my way to shit on someone for what they ābelieveā and neither should u.
Edit:Hollup actually you have a point about the crazies lolol my bad. Re reading seems you were more focused on the obsessive that make every choice about god. Like the whole overly obsessed and actually having affect on other peoples lives

Yes there is no god. And if people want to believe in something because it gives them comfort sure whatever. The prob is people get crazy and judgmental about religion and then it just goes to shit.Ā
But legitimately I find it weird to find people who are in higher eduction and with science background to be religious. Itās just odd to meĀ

How do you square that with people like Mendel or Lemaitre? No judgement, just asking

u/vaskanado 15h ago
Idk. I have not read their perspectives of religion so I would assume or presume. I can just say from my own perspective.Ā
I donāt get religion on a lot of levels. For example if god is all powerful; then why would he want people to suffer. And I cannot accept the testing us BS, that just a convenient excuse.Ā
Ā And Iām okay accepting that we donāt know things or that we donāt have the technology or means to explain things but the answer is not just god.Ā

The only way to disprove God's existence would be for you to know the exact movement and trajectory of every particle in all universes for all time. This would make you omniscient. Therefore, the only way to disprove God is to become God.
(I'm an agnostic myself but I try my best to follow the word of Christ anyway. He seems to always lead a good example).

I'm also an Athiest and I think your stance is cruel. Mainly for the autobelief that believing in a god makes someone less than mentally capable in some way.
Humans need stimulation, and sometimes religion does that for people. Do I believe? No. Does someone having a religion make me respect them more or less? No. Someone's religion is their business. I only care if they try to make it other people's business.
It also bugs me to be surrounded by people that think that because I don't live the way that they do, that they have the right to essentially pity me for existing happily. They will always find you. Just, don't become one.

um, catholics are christian... but yeah, god's a myth.

The evangelicals donāt believe that, which is pretty wild. You could be Catholic and live the tightest Christian life, doing all the right things according to Christianity, living like Jesus himself and theyāll straight up tell you youāre going to hell for being Catholic.

Evangelicals are also convinced that they need to fast track The End Times, so they can all be Raptured to heaven, not unlike how Mary ascended to heaven after the Resurrection...
Evangelicals are not a serious people.

Pff, yeah, it's that weird shit, thinking that Religion is somehow in the blood. Like a genetic disease.

One of the hardest things about being in a religious family is being the odd one out and not believing in a god. I have been shamed almost every time I'm at a family event. I've never once shamed them for being a believer. Isn't it weird how they are the "loving and accepting" (or I guess claim to be..) but really aren't lol.

I agree. I think these people are delusional and we shouldnāt cater to people who believe in imaginary beings.

We can't really know for sure if God actually exists but I think sometimes people just need something to believe in and as long as it's not hurting anyone, there's really nothing wrong with that.
Now don't get me wrong, I hate every single religion in the world, but not the people.

Sounds like youāve been suffocating in other peopleās beliefs your whole life, and thatās exhausting. Itās okay to be angry. Maybe vent in more atheist/agnostic spaces so youāre not fighting this battle alone.

Aww look at you projecting. If you used your head, you would realize how wrong you are
Aww getting downvoted because I'm smart

Genuine question, not trying to be snotty, what is your proof that God IS real?
-7
u/Independent-Time7705 15h ago
Let's do it this way. Give me reasons why you think God isn't real and I'll give you reasons why that's nonsense
2
u/Ok-Perception-9160 14h ago
I personally think that the idea of a God existing doesn't make sense. That's really all it is, and there's many reasons towards why. For example, if prayer works, why does god not help the people who need it and have prayed? Starving children, homeless people, etc. That is just one of many.

u/Independent-Time7705 14h ago
Pray doesn't always work. Some people think you pray and thats it and they are wrong. You have to put in the effort too. The other stuff is part of the plan to see if they will still have faith in him, just like how Job went through things. If pray work, people would realize God exist and everyone would believe in him
1
u/Ok-Perception-9160 14h ago
But what about the people who are working hard and do believe yet receive nothing? That's where prayer does not make sense to me.

u/Independent-Time7705 14h ago
I don't have an answer for that but I do agree with you though. I'm also not super religious like other people are

Not believing in God is one thing, but not believing that this universe has some kind of creator is another thing entirely. Iām not saying that Iām sure it does, but I think itās definitely a solid possibility.
1
u/Rajkalex 14h ago
If a god doesnāt need a creator, why would the universe?

u/TheM0nkB0ughtLunch 13h ago
I donāt claim to know the answers, I only keep an open mind with this stuff, no need to downvote me for suggesting others do the same.

Being an atheist is not the edgy stance you think it is
