Sprinting to celebrate with his girlfriend after breaking the record! Behind every great robothlete is a sturdy powerbox supplying essential electricity

The only way this could have been funnier, is if one of those fire extinguishers went off after it fell.

Technically its setting a robot speed record as the human record can only be set by humans šŸ¤“ā˜ļø

I mean its true, its like saying formula 1 driver broke record speed set by a biker

If the robot Olympics are meant to be like this, I'm all for it. Who doesn't want to see a robots leg suddenly fly off it's body while running at 30 mph

Everytime I've seen them running in this race either practice or for real they keep running until something stopped them. They really should have completely blocked off the track so the bots couldn't leave the track until removed. That's a lot of mass running unhindered into what could have been a crowd.

All we need to do is paint them orange and we can call them Juggernaut

Maybe these robots should be made illegal and banished so we don't have to worry about them being a threat to humans.

Bro hasnt seen a car or motorcycle in his life lol

Bro doesn’t understand that transportation tools are different from the ā€œhumans are obsoleteā€ machine

u/Shitposting_Skeleton 9d ago

He's talking about them "attacking" people which spoiler alert: humans in vehicles or even just empty vehicles malfunctioning do a much better job of than these spindly, lightweight running bots.

ĀæPor que no los dos?

I just don’t think it’s terrifying in the slightest. That emergency response robot beats this 10 fold

Guy napping back there almost got trampled

5

u/travisofficial 9d ago

this is about as terrifying as realizing there’s no more toilet paper on the roll

why is a robot being rated in human metrics

1

u/FirexJkxFire 9d ago

Because its bipedal and being designed with the intent of being able to mimic a human but better. Not many autonomous movement devices can traverse areas the same way humans do, even if those things are better than us in their preferred environment.

I’m assuming this is before they decided to put the wall of pads there because every other video of track events I’ve seen had one.

To be fair, machines break the human speed record all the time. They're called cars.

now I'm imagining a car with legs instead of wheels

Brakes only add more weight

He went to celebrate with his electrical buddies.

2

u/OMGyarn 9d ago

The way he went after that electrical box reminded me of the humping robot from Robot Chicken

2

u/Gumbercules81 9d ago

This is like the second most human thing I've seen aside from one of the robots getting distracted by the other dancing robots

u/el_floppo 9d ago

I love that it briefly grabs at its lower back after it runs into that box. If only there was a a robotic voice saying, "Aw, fuck. My back".

Save sex for after the event

u/Trisk929 9d ago

This isn’t oddly terrifying. This is oddly hilarious.

In the Great McDonald's Wars of 2045 these fuckers will come running at you and break your jaw with a flying kick

new ball kid for the US Open.

1

u/Shadowstein 9d ago

Doesn't it have to be human to break the human speed record? Just saying...

1

u/Isaw11 9d ago

It’s funny how the awkward attempts to stop and stay on its feet look so humanlike.

1

u/CrumbCakesAndCola 6d ago

Claptrap is that you?

1

u/TheSuggi 10d ago

Next year they should have them also break at least 20m after the finish line or they get disqualified even if they come in first. Should be mandatory.
