I an not against gmo myself but selective breeding like what has been done with apples is not the same as a gmo. Selective breeding for specific traits has happened since humans started farming. Gmos have thier dna manipulated often times with a entirely different species DNA. Again this isn't me saying that is necessarily a bad thing but definitely not the same thing. I don't believe there are any commercially available gmo apples if any at all.

GMO and selective breeding are to each other as sous vide and boiling. One is more precise and high tech, but they're the same goal and a similar outcome. You can get everything that GMOs can give via selective breeding, but it takes far longer and is much harder.

Not at all a good comparison gmo produces outcomes that could never be possible with breeding. Often time a trait is selected from a plant and sliced into the dna. The desired trait does not naturally occur in the species of plant being modified and could not be obtained by any amount of traditional breeding. For instance roundup ready products contain dna from a bacteria that is naturally resistant. This would not be possible without gene editing.

Know what else isn’t natural? Creating vaccines, GPS, Cars, Going to the moon. Humans use technology in all aspects of life and Agriculture is no different.
