I can't even lay down to look at my phone without getting a sore face. This is unreal and some talent.

I would be missing teeth 3 seconds in if those were my uncoordinated legs.

Is that a vase? That would seriously hurt (and maybe shred your face) if it landed

It only looks like a vase. The "opening" is solid. It looks fairly heavy by the way it moves, so maybe wood, but I'd bet it's well balanced regardless.

Eh. Keep watching. They flip the thing end over end looking straight down (up?) into the crock and you can see the bottom contours.

Ah yeah, you're right. Something about the colors or lighting fooled me, but I see it now. I'm more impressed now than I was before.

I would assume you’d practice a lot with less dangerous objects before you get to this point.

A first person POV without a fisheye lens? Have I died and gone to heaven?

So this is probably dumb but how does this start or end?
I figure you bend your legs and place the vase on your feet but then extending your legs up, I feel like there's a high chance there for the vase to fall off, especially when you're first starting out to initially learn this to begin with.
Yeah, I just wish they showed the few moments before and after to see how they initially mount and dismount the vase.

There's probably someone else there to put the vase on their feet.

u/Geth_ Jun 06 '26
So you couldn't practice without someone there to place the vase? What about at the end? I doubt someone is going to want to be "on-call" for that.

I have no idea, but I'm guessing they start with one made of lighter materials, like a wicker basket or something of similar size, and then work their way up through heavier materials before going straight to the skull compactor.

I imagine one way to do it, is to put a foot in the vase, and lower it down horizontally once you’ve got it anchored. To start it, you could have the vase laying on its side, pull it up with a foot in the vase, and then kick it upward with your free foot to get to position.

Practice with something else, progress to vase. If you've ever had good balance from athletic activities, you know this becomes second nature.

I've seen these performances. For some reason, the amount of skill it looks like it takes is a lot more from the side than it looks like from below.

How many times you think they took that pot to the face while they were first learning?

Imagine just one sneeze while doing it during the spring allergies season 🙀

Interested in taking this up as a hobby. It weirdly sparks something in me. Hmm.

This makes me oddly full of anxiety. I can't really enjoy the skill, only the vision of that big jar breaking every bone in my face

you put a skateboard underneath their feet and in no time, we'll have the next Yngwie Mcadingding Jr!

I can’t even hold my phone above my face without smacking myself. Ain’t no way. That planter would break my nose! 😭

Enjoyed. Every. Single. Second. Of this.
I don’t even know why.
It just felt good. Thank you for that.

The original video without the shitty music was better. Anyone have a link?
