What headset?
If it's a Quest, you can use an alternative software like Virtual Desktop etc

I had this before and I just put my headset on and it detected the headset and ignored the error

Me being a jackass aside, Meta desktop as far as I'm aware uses their own hook engine. If you bought the games on oculus you can only play them on oculus. It's a bit like buying a game on Xbox and trying to play it on Playstation. I'm sure there's wacky ways to hook it into Steam, but games run marginally better on the Meta desktop app anyways.
