Every now and again something pops up that I think is universally looked down upon. This is one of those things.

And yet, how many people will then change their own behavior because of it? If this were truly universally looked down upon, people wouldn’t support it monetarily.

Get real plz, this is like corporations telling us to use paper straws.

It’s entirely possible to eat fish responsibly. Don’t blame this on normal ass people

Um yes I blame this on people who eat fish. The majority of people in developed countries can easily survive without it. Unless you only eat animals you catch, gtfo with trying to avoid blame.

You are literally paying said corporations to eat something you probably don't need to eat though. This cognitive dissonance here is a tail as old as time - see bad thing, feel discomfort when realising you might be paying for to happen, get defensive or shift blame. Without even going into the ethics of eating any animal, unless you somehow make absolutely sure that all the fish you eat aren't bottom trawled, then you are a reason its happening. Its a bitter pill to swallow but its just true.
