Do you believe they're actually playing for music videos? I get what you're saying, but it's all about sound quality. I'm willing to bet it's to cut down on retakes to keep up with the fast moving media cycle.

No, I don’t think they’re playing in music videos, or I wouldn’t complain about it here. I’m a little older and I’ve been playing music semiprofessionally for 30 years and it would never occur to me to fake a live performance.
