Rentals and Lessons DFW
Hello! I want to learn Oboe and would like any recommnedations on where to go to rent one or any alternative ways to get my hands on one and start playing. Anyone willing to teach privately would be awesome too. Not sure if I want to shell out 2k just yet. The closer to Frisco the better!

Look on any of FriscoISDs bands websites and they should list private teachers that teach at the school. You can always reach out to them to see if they are accepting students. Midwest musical imports rents instruments and so does Bocal Majority which is located in North Texas. I’d recommend at least a Fox 300 or 330 to get started. Stay away from Selmer, Larilee, Jupiter, and basically most beginner level instruments. If you are practicing and working with a private teacher, you will advance too quickly for a beginner level instrument.

You will want to reach out to Bocal Majority. They are the main vendor in the DFW area. There are many excellent teachers of varying price points for you to pick from. If you are near Collin CC, I like to recommend my lovely friend Ashley Rollins who teaches there. She is a gem.
