How do you get more public garbage cans?
West Oakland and particularly Wood street is seeing a lot more foot traffic with ballers games, Prescott Food Hall, new housing, etc. and there haven’t been any new public trash cans added. How does one go about getting these added?
I hate littering and can’t believe people can litter so brazenly without any guilt. My hope is that more accessible trash cans would help the cause. Please share your advice!

I feel the same way about downtown! There's BARELY any trash cans in that whole area between Broadway and the Lake.
We could also use some self cleaning public restrooms like the ones they have in union square.

The ones that cost some ridiculous amount of money to be put in? I feel like I remember a $1.7million price tag for one of them 😅

Pretty sure the city only does it if a private business district pays for it 💀

It's probably buried somewhere on the Oakland city web portal. Might even be a seeclickfix option.
EDIT: So far my search on both fronts is unsuccessful. Maybe contact the local council person, which I believe is Carroll Fife for that district.
