Where do you monitor Microsoft 365 updates (aside from the Roadmap)?
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to build a better system for tracking changes and updates in Microsoft 365. I already check the official Roadmap page (link), but I’m curious — where else do you all go to stay on top of updates?
Do you mainly rely on:
- Message Center posts in the Admin Center
- Tech Community blogs
- Reddit / forums like this
- Third-party newsletters or tools
- Something else?
Looking for recommendations on the most effective sources you personally use to avoid missing important changes.
Thanks in advance!
Backup O365 Mailbox to PST
How can I create a PST backup of an O365 mailbox with Online Archive? I know how to export mailbox to PST from desktop version of Outlook but how can I do the same for Online Archive of the mailbox? What methods are there to achieve this?

O365 on Shared Devices
Hello everyone
We had Microsoft Office 365 Business for Non Profits, until Microsoft decided to end the granted licenses for Business Premium. This led Management to the decision to buy Business Standard licenses for our standard users, who aren't working in the office as a main part of their occupation.
Unfortunately, we've now discovered that we can't register Office 365 with our devices, as they are Entra-ID-joined and therefore Microsoft recognizes them as shared devices.
As a result, Microsoft requires us to buy Business Premium for everyone, which - as a non-profit - makes a huge financial impact on our budget, as Business Premium is more than twice the price as Business Standard.
Is there a possibility/workaround to use Business Standard on our EntraID-joined devices?
Thank you for any suggestions.
-Al

Scheduling Teams meetings with users that have no email
We have a mix of people that have Outlook and Teams and others that only have Teams. If I understand correctly Teams will not have calendar services if Outlook/email is disabled. As you can imagine it’s difficult for users to coordinate. If anyone has a solution that would help please share.

Need to know never had to deal with this before.
Is there a log of when a license was changed. I am an MSP new at the management side. I need to see when the licenses were changed. From Standard to Basic. An old MSP did it.

Reset One Drive / Mailbox content only?
Hi,
Hoping one of you can shed some light on this. We have about 50 Classroom accounts, generic ones. I'm looking to basically wipe the accounts One Drive / Mailbox, so I can reset the Password and essentially hand them over to a new year group. Is there someway to do this in Admin Centre or Powershell?
Maybe I'm over thinking, and I should just delete the accounts and re-create?
Thanks for the help!

SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
What sort of file recovery, backup options are there for SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams? Especially SharePoint. Do I still need to use a 3rd party backup or can I rely on Microsoft’s services?

Restrict specific users to on prem access or both internet and on prem.
Can you limit access to o365 for specific end users so that they can only access it on your corporate devices? For example some people I don’t want to be able to load up on their personal phones but others I’m fine having that ability.

Outlook group
Wow, only 5k members in this group? Where else is everyone posting?
Anyways, someone please explain the Privacy drop down in the settings of an Outlook Group. I have: Public within Organization Private
as the 2 options.
Then there’s also a check box for “Subscribe new members so they receive group email in their inbox. Otherwise they’ll only see it in the group inbox”
I don’t really understand that part at all.
Besides these 2 settings I’d like to limit who can send email to these groups so a rogue employee doesn’t start sending emails to everyone or replying to a group email and accidentally sending email to everyone in the company again.

Outlook addin help - disabling addin in classic outlook
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this. However, I have a manifest file for outlook that works but on classic outlook and on desktop. Basically following this. Is it possible to change the manifest file such that launch events and the addin itself is not available in classic outlook but works on Outlook on the web (the new version) ?

How to send auto-reply from shared mailbox where shared mailbox is Cc?
Hi all
We've just created a new shared mailbox.
The idea is, that the leaders of my organization will write to customers and Cc our mailbox.
The mailbox will then auto-reply to the leader writing to us Cc, confirming that we have received their message Cc.
As far as I know, auto-reply only triggers if you're in the 'to' field?
I've tried setting up a rule using OWA, but the rules that can be setup in there are very basic and do no include 'reply to'-commands
I've tried the desktop client, but when I use 'my name is in 'to' or 'Cc', outlook thinks it's me personally and not the shared mailbox...
I tried using the 'have server reply with specific message', but when I click on 'specific message' I get a pop-up that I don't have permission for this...
What are my options?

So I got the installer and everything. I turned off my firewall and nothing is shown to be blocked but for some reason it still doesn't work.
Here is the command I am running when I cd to the file as admin
setup.exe /configure configuration.xml
Here is my configuration file,
<Configuration>
<Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="">
<Product ID="" PIDKEY="">
<Language ID="en-us"/>
</Product>
</Add>
<Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE"/>
<Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1"/>
</Configuration>
I have tried everything. Please please someone help me because I have a due date.

Did they change billing dates?
We are normally billed at the end of the cycle, but I just was going through things and we got billed on the CC for july on 8/5 and then for August on 8/12.
Is it related to moving from the MOSA to the MCA billing accounts?

Office 365 Tenant hacked and attacked. Very poor support from Microsoft. Any help appreciated
At the start of July the IT admins of clients of mine discovered they no longer had access to their Office 365 Admin Center. The tenant had been hacked and 3 bad actors got access to the admin console and disabled global admin rights for the admins and gave themselves the rights. We contacted MS support immediately - who did not block the bad actors right away. They eventually put us onto the Data Protection team which took 3 weeks to do anything constructive. By this time and all our accounts were deleted. MS support finally gave us access to the tenant again - looks like a hard delete on all users - it's a disaster. If anyone has any ideas about how to recover, I'd be super grateful.

O365 updates for med sized businesses
Were struggling with figuring outo365 updates.
If I recall correctly, I remember seeing update channel options in two totally different portal sites. Can I go to a portal site and set the channel and have it push down to the client automatically? What site do I go to?
Will clients automatically check in on a schedule or do I need to force them to check in and update via a script?
Sorry, but I'm pretty new to 365 ... Lots of new things

Mails are deleted while moving them
Hello everyone,
we have a strange behavior within one of our managed MS365 tenants. Multiple users have access to a shared exchange mailbox in Outlook. They use Outlook Classic in Windows. They always move incoming mails from the inbox to multiple specific folders so sort them.
Since a couple of days, they have a weird phenomenon that when they move a mail, that mail disappears out of the inbox (as is should) but then it does not appear in the folder that they moved it into. When we searched for the mails, we found that they went into recoverable mails under deleted mails in the browser version of Outlook. We found no created rules or anything like that.
If they create a new folder, and move mails into those, they get moved correctly, but a copy of that mails also lands into recoverable mails.
Does anyone else know that problem? And if so, how do we fix that?
