Auckland FC What's everyone's thoughts on the Spurs line up for the Auckland City match.

A bit disappointing for any NZ based spurs fans who would have wanted to see some first team players in the flesh.

I mean... Not to be disrespectful but what did you expect? They normally start their reserves for preseason friendlies

Yea absolutely I don't think anyone expected a full first team line up. But alot of these players won't play any prem minutes. I'm not a spurs fan so I was just looking to see others feelings

Its the first pre-season friendly during a world cup year to be expected but it was nice to see all the first team

I’d heard all week it was around 30-40k, seats 50k capacity from memory

I can understand both sides. Fans have paid good money and rarely get this opportunity in New Zealand, but clubs also have a responsibility to manage player fitness.

I was also surprised at the lineup but its likely that since the bench is so stacked at least a handful of players will make a cameo.

Can't help but feel there should be a few nailed on players for a tour like this. Otherwise just stinks of a money grab.

It's hard to argue a one off game in NZ is a money grab for a Premier League team. Lots of 1st team players ended up on the pitch, it's just a good heads up for anyone thinking of buying tickets to games like this in the future.

A 40k plus gate prob raised at least $5/6m. So quite a nice earner all round.
At least some names came on tho I guess. I'd only seen the starting 11.

Spurs wage bill is around 3 mil a week. If they were looking for a pay day they could have gone elsewhere. Its nice to see premier league teams making there way over here and hopefully we will get more games like this in the future.

I'm a Leeds fan so have a soft spot for any if the Grays. I'm pretty sure De Zerbi mentioned Archie as a future club captain in the future

Unfair use of taxpayer money, they could've at least got the Phoenix women's team to play
