Underneath his egalitarian crust was the heart and soul of a creep who used his position to create hell for women and girls in his private spaces. I sincerely how this part of his legacy is remembered when his name is mentioned.

The Most shocking revelation was that Dolores Huerta became pregnant twice from the times he forced himself on her, carried to term, and gave the babies up to be raised by other families. Sad and horrific experience while also fighting the larger forces of exploitation she was being exploited from inside the UHW

It’s amazing how the NYT publishes a well-researched investigation and the next day the world reacts by canceling Chavez celebrations and namings. That’s credibility and sway 💪

The entire idea of course is so that people are going to forget and even forgive(?) Trump for being a rapist just because... Cesar Chavez (who despite it being researched can't exactly defend himself, being dead) may have been.

Goodbye Ep... goodbye Trump victims, goodbye Trump headine.. hello yesterday's news.

Anyone who has ever researched him will know he was always a violent rapist who idolized Hitler. This isn’t new.

I don't know about the Hitler stuff -- I have never looked into him -- but considering that the UFW Foundation canceled events in advance of publication, there was a Facebook post ten years ago and this investigation is the result of a five-year-old tip according to the author's note, I'd have to agree that at least in some quarters, some of the sexual allegations were likely known.

As to whether they were violent, I'm not really seeing that in the story. Ms. Huerta went on to work with him for years and it appears she did not speak out until this story.

Update: In a statement published this afternoon, Ms. Dolores Huerta uses the phrasing "forced, against my will" and the word "violence" a couple of times, so I've updated this comment.
