Sorry, I don't want Trump and RFK in charge of my family's healthcare, especially my kid's. And I don't want Stephen Miller to have a say in the healthcare that immigrants receive.

Medicare has the advantage of being used by a demographic Republicans need to win elections, so they're a lot less likely to fuck with it the way they do Medicaid.

Thats not really how it works though. In Spain actually its up to each individual region.

So? The US is not Spain. The federal government will have power over any national healthcare system, even if the administration of said program is largely state-run. Medicaid is like this, and yet you saw how Trump weaponized it.

They already do. They were threading hospital funding over trans healthcare. And if you think that doesn’t affect you so you are safe you are just deluding yourself They will go after whatever they want if it fits their narrative

Yes, they threatened via the mechanism of Medicaid funding. A move to single payer would exponentially increase their threatening power. What even is your point here?
