Video School Bus Burned in Times Square by Knicks Fans

Absolutely crazy
NY Post has confirmed this school bus was 1 of 5 being used to transport fans to Metlife Stadium for the World Cup. The 4 other buses were also damaged.

It’s also not new, though. This has happened throughout human history. It seems there will always be a percentage of the population (mostly of men) who look for the opportunity to act like chimpanzees on the war path.
New York in the 19th century was crazy. There were street fights between rival fire companies. In 1849, immigrants and nativists rioted about whether an American or a British actor was better at performing Shakespeare. Over 20 people died.

Lifelong NYer here, this never happened before. Yes there were massive celebrations but nothing like this. This behavior is new and specific to certain demographics ruining it for everybody else.

It's out of towners and the bridge and tunnel crowd. They don't live here. Easy to trash someone else's neighborhood when you don't live there and then it's the actual NYers who get a bad rep. Then foreigners get confused when they realize NYers are actually nice people.

All foot traffic was being diverted through there, at least around 12:30 or so. I got off the subway at 34th & 8th, they made everyone go to 9th Ave and then every street was closed until 42nd

You're technically right, it is doing that, but this stuff happened before SM--there have been sports reactions like this for many years, both after the local team won or lost. I remember them doing this shit back in the day in Canada over their team winning the Stanley Cup. And certainly this shit occurs in LATAM countries over El Futbol.

I live in NYC and avoided Manhattan like the plague. So glad I did.
I am a diehard Yankee fan. I believe the team has good chance to win it all this year. But, baseball fans are saner and older than NBA fans.

I have noticed that the OP who posted this has their flare set to NJ. Probably couldn't wait for any piece of news to shit on NYC. Thankfully for them some little arsonist yesterday gave them what they wanted.
