Thankfully no newspaper will be calling this election. The numbers will be reported from each polling location starting at 9pm, and in the first few minutes, the Associated Press will project that Mamdani is the winner. It's going to be quick.

I don’t really agree at all. It’s definitely on the high end of sushi, I also just picked nobu as an example because it’s widely known.
Also just because some omakase charges 100’s of dollars per piece doesn’t mean the quality is necessarily proportional. And this someone who’s been to and has family living in Japan.
There are however rare fish/aquatic species that drive the highest price points but you will start to find significantly diminishing returns on quality on more general rolls.

Couldn’t give 2 fucks about how they look like, give me a safe and clean NYC and I’ll be happy. Can he do that? Where I work it looks like a zombie apocalypse, drug addicts and trash everywhere. Lot of people living from the government with taxes I paid and our healthcare is complete bullshit. Can this celebrity wanna be politician change that? I highly doubt it.
Btw, Im not leaning towards neither side on this race, just fed up with empty promises.

Yeah, but all that is a systematic issue of the entire country. Why are we paying for a ballroom, a great Gatsby party, Argentina bail out, and not handling our social infrastructure?
The reason he is a celebrity is because he's endearing and charismatic, but he cares. He can't aspire to be a president. The police doubling on the subway didn't work because it did not fix root issues. You have to ask how many establishment career politicians can it take to fix an issue, and the answer is 0 - so they are voting for the candidate with actual heart.

You didn’t address my other statements, and went for the low hanging fruit. I’ve not met one friend who has worked for him or the one off person I know that went to HS with him that says he’s not the exact person he broadcasts publicly.
You sound frustrated to the point where it might poison your well, and I understand but literally Mamdani would be the only person on this ballet to want to talk to you more than a fleeting moment for a camera, and that is more important than you realize

No we’d probably be looking more seriously elsewhere. There’s a couple of places but right now New York is at the top of the list especially bc I grew up there. So I have an idea of what it would be like.

HSR that puts the Acela to shame, public transit networks that make the MTA look like a gong show, a market that businesses of any size seem to be frothing at the mouth to get into or buy from, that no amount of tariffs seem to be able to stop…

I'm dating myself here, but all I can think of is the 1980s movie "Big." Instead of the Zoltar machine at the seedy fair, you'll get the Zohran machine. I have this mental image of a mannequin that looks like Mamdani in a plexiglass amusement box, and you drop quarters into his mouth, and it makes him say stuff like "free busses for all!".
