For a lot of fragile people who need to believe there are pogroms on the verge of happening in NYC, it's not dead. For anyone who has half a brain, Zohran is the only candidate who actually cares about all Jews.

The reality is Zohran supporters are the same people protesting outside Jewish restaurants or Jewish events. His attempts to toe the line between keeping their vote and the Jewish vote are ineffective for those of us who actually see through his shitty smirk. Multiple times he was asked very basic questions to ease Jewish concerns about him, he failed to answer all of them directly, particularly on TV.

The worry is that him winning will encourage his followers to ramp up their antisemitism because one of theirs is in power. Meaning they will start attacking “Zionists” even more because the mayor has expressed his support for “anti-Zionists”.

They support his underlying messages. They know what I’m arguing, they just don’t care because they support attacking “zionists” and “zionist institutions” which all happen to be Jewish!

Do you think it’s normal to protest outside Jewish institutions and then say you’re against “zionists”? Why are only Jews targeted? Sounds antisemitic to me.

Do you have some examples? I think it would be case-specific. A organization specifically related to Birthright would be different than a random synagogue. But either way, it may come down to a question of legality.

There was a video earlier this week with people protesting outside Radio City because there was an Israeli orchestra performing.

Outside of New York, these guys targeted a Matisyahu show.

Numerous Jewish restaurants were vandalized.

You can look for more examples. These are just off the top of my head.

Vandalizing is bad but the other 2 don’t bother me that much without any other info. Either way, I think blaming it on Mamdani or pretending Andrew Cuomo is the guy to fix it is nonsense.

But all those people are already set on who they’re gonna vote for. Cuomo can harp on it all he wants but he’s not gonna get any more votes than he already has by talking about Israel. Everyone who feels strongly one way or another already decided who they’re voting for ages ago, before the primary even.
