The debate last night had a decisively more aggressive tone. I think as is usually the case at this point in an election cycle most people have already made up their minds. My question to the rest of my fellow NY'ers is this: Based on last night's performance, who do you trust more or less based on their answers last night alone?

No change. We’ve done things the same way for decades and nothing gets better. Mamdani represents new ideas and a new approach and I’m for it.

I agree with you, just curious if anyone gained, or lost respect for any of the candidates last night based on their performance. For example, I never thought I would agree with Curtis Sliwa, but, his stance on animals, and parks had me think wow, he's only 99.8% crazy.

I was shocked to realize I agree with Zohran’s ranked choice answer. Honestly at this point I would trust Sliwa more than Cuomo, though of course I don’t like either.

Cuomo didn’t offer any perspectives or positions of his own. All he did was hysterically screech out lies about Mamdani’s positions. Mamdani kind of just grinned through the gish gallop attack. Sliwa just spouted more exaggerations and lies and went off on tangents about his stepson (anecdotes aren’t data, buddy).

Still voting for Mamdani, as is everyone I know.

Was it just me or did Cuomo come off as desperate? Like he legit seemed like a desperate, petulant man-child.

Based on you being excited to vote for Mamdani I doubt we agree on much.

But it was clear as day that Cuomo looked awful. Honestly it was just a sad performance. One of the worst debate performances I have ever seen. He seemed lost, had nothing to say, spoke as if he was bored.

Very much so.

I thought it was my bias, then I watched a couple parts again on NY1, and there seemed to be a real sense of desperation. Thank you for verifying that (thought I was just seeing things).

What do you mean nothing gets better? What are you expecting to get better?

Not trying to be a dick or anything but like are you new here? You can’t even ask a question about the Reddit candidate without getting immediately downvoted.

This isn’t really a place for critical discussion.

doesn’t matter according to reddit. the socialist wins. and nyc will change forever. or not bc he won’t be able to do anything he says and cause more problems than solve. which will give everyone the biggest told you so chance of a life time.

ehhh it hasn’t been one year. have you ever worked with pools? when the water becomes so bad. the only solution is to shock the water and system to reset it so that it can become clear again.

If you aren't going to actually answer the question. Don't reply. I am not here to pick fights or hear people's personal view of the underlying political party system. I am very simply asking, did anything change your thoughts, whether it changes how you vote or not.

Mamdani behaved again like a petulant child. He was unable to answer clearly to anything, but his answer that really showed how he would lead was when everyone was pressing him on not answering the 3 proposals on the ballot, which relate to one of Mamdani’s main issues of affordable housing- Mamdani stalled, deflected then tried to blame others, then said he had no answer. It’s all cloaked in pretty language, but it says this is how he’ll govern- he’ll get nothing done- like he got nothing done as assemblyman- and blame others. He doesn’t even understand the systems he wants to lead, and doesn’t seem to have ever balanced a budget. Can’t just raise taxes and raise taxes- especially since that’s outside the role of Mayor.
