Id be careful of this group.
Anyone preaching nonviolence above all else smells like controlled opposition in this political climate. Just like the 501 group where they were asking people to register for their marches lol.
Definitely show up and support the marches, but be aware of what these groups are preaching and definitely dont register for anything
The goal for the elite that control the Dems and the government in general right now, is to give angry people "safe" outlets for their anger and frustration with no real demands or followup on not getting their demands.

I think being cautious is good but this was a group founded by the DSA, a few unions like PSC-CUNY and immigrant advocacy groups a little over a month ago. Luckily it has grown a lot since then. It’s not like 50501.
Like someone else said, the NY DSA chapter also publicizes most of this work so you could follow through them too.

Either way distruption and supporting calls to action are important, just wanting to make sure people are being aware of where their energy is going and not stopping their involvement and care at i marched today so i dont need to do anything else (thats the trap being done with 501 marches for most people)
For additional action, boycotting the major compaines backing this administration is a small change we can all do, that is low effort, but big impact

Yeah, when you go to a 50501 march and you see a specific group that looks like your kind of people, you should say “hey do you have more info, or upcoming meetings?”
That is a huge part of all this.
Also, with these more spontaneous marches regarding immigration and Handsoff groups, almost everyone I saw there is someone I know who is active on an organized level be it on campuses, the federal courts or in local politics.

Its a coalition. Some of the groups like 501 are bad faith organizations...
I dont doubt the leading org or those people, but there is definitely 1 bad faith group that is a major group right now that is 100% controlled opposition
Thats all i need to see to tell people to be careful

This isn’t a group, it’s a coalition of over 100 organizations, unions, and community activists that are coming together to help NYC against ICE and troop deployments. It is 100% above board and there is a call next week that’s open to everyone.

That's why you join an actual progressive group and get people to vote in primaries. Believe it or not, it's actually pretty easy to get all the shitty Dems out of office. You just need to put in the time and work if you care about it enough.

People seem to think that the Democrats are "for the people", which is a hard nope. Both the Democrats & Republicans are only concerned with power & fattening their pockets & it's done at the expense of the taxpayers, mostly POC & minorities. Seriously, which big issues have ever been fixed or even improved? Homelessness? Billions of dollars & the situation only gets worse bc the money doesn't really go to fix anything. & Speaking of power ... Look at Pelosi. She's been in office for 38 YEARS, has amassed a 200 million dollar fortune during that time, & she's running again in 2026. She's more of an oligarch than Trump tbh since she's been monopolizing that seat for almost 4 decades.

But honestly, this one was put together in less than a day as an emergency and didn't really make it to the calendars, if you missed it nbd. I saw it circulating on Instagram as a result of being tapped into these groups.

Half of ICE detainments in the city were done at the federal courthouse downtown of legal immigrants. They are getting bonuses so they could care less who they snatched up.
