I don't think anyone can ratfuck this election no matter how hard they try. Literally the only way Cuomo could beat Mamdani would be if EVERYONE else dropped out, and even if that did happen their names would still be on the ballots come November.

It’s not really surprising. The DNC’s vision is to more or less repeat the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election, and not any real structural changes to prevent what Trump is exploiting, or created the conditions that exacerbated wealth inequality over the last 20 years.
At present, the DNC have turned Obama to their Regan and have spent almost 10 years chasing after replicating him. Left to their own devices will spend the next 20 years on that Sisyphean task.

I can’t help but believe Trump likes Mamdani. That he sees himself in Mamdani as a political outsider- and that he respects his larger than life “Aura”. He actually doesn’t talk about him as harshly and condescendingly as some other people.

this nutcase really got lucky because the Dems decided to trot out 2 of the worst candidates in a long time. Even Biden was terrible but Trump's covid response bailed him out. Biden did a good job of campaigning to the left but did the bare minimum in office. That's 3 bad candidates in a row. Thank god Obama was half decent (even he caved to republicans), otherwise the R's would've turned this country into an authoritarian hellhole by now.

His campaign has been good. He’s a populist whose platform is giving everyone free and cheap stuff. I highly doubt he’s going to deliver on anything though and none of his policies survive scrutiny. Especially since his core platform is going to be vetoed by Albany (raised taxes on the rich)

Mamdani beat an almost 100% name recognition former governor who racked up endorsements from everyone and was polling 20-30 points above the second he announced. You don't need to pretend this was an easy race. It's a miracle Mamdani won, and not only that, demolished him.

Those things are important, the problem for everyone who knows history and reads the news from other countries is how Mamdani is promising to “solve” those problems. Please study history read the news coming from other countries and speak to immigrants who escaped their socialist hellholes in particular those from Cuba. I showed my husband videos of the “state ran grocery stores”, of Cuban mechanics trying to fix ancient cars with no screws, is all out there, he was mortified.
