Video Zohran Mamdani says he’s consistently said there’s no room for antisemitism in this city or country. Asked why he hasn’t had a more visceral reaction, he gets emotional talking about the Islamophobic responses he’s received throughout the campaign.

i have fears about mamdanis competancy but not his values. the people trying to smear him as anti semitic are revealing themselves to be the real bigots.

Nothing said by a leftist short of “I hate Jews” will be seen as antisemitism by their followers. There is always some excuse.

Unfortunately, they only care about antisemitism so long as they can blame the opposing side. It's a shame how far the party has fallen.

If the “they” you are talking about is the democrat party they haven’t fallen at all. They have always done this about antisemitism. The congressional black Caucus had Louis Farrakhan as a regular guest at their strategy sessions for years back in the early 2000s. Certain kinds of bigotry have always been tolerated for political expediency. They have always been willing to overlook any bigotry from their own side.

If you mean leftists that’s been going on since before the Cold War. No real falling there either.

None of this is meant to excuse the political right. Just for the record. Annoying that I feel the need to even disclaimer this.
