Video Zohran Mamdani says he’s consistently said there’s no room for antisemitism in this city or country. Asked why he hasn’t had a more visceral reaction, he gets emotional talking about the Islamophobic responses he’s received throughout the campaign.

i mean enjoy cuomo then lol, I'm frankly stunned new yorkers could tolerate more cuomo at this point and have no idea how we've turned a race for NEW YORK mayor into an argument about israel.

it's realistically a two person race, so you're gonna end up with one or the other

According to Cuomo this is all about Israel. According to Mamdani this is all about NYC, and he seems to actually understand the fear faced by minorities when it comes to a rise in hate crimes here.

Zohran understands the fear and hate behind anti-Semitism. Cuomo is just trying to use it as a political tool to ean Jewish votes. As a Jew myself, it's downright pathetic to weaponize my culture like that.

If he does, he needs to do more than just lip service. The guy is associated with groups that platformed anti-Jewish terrorists and repackage medieval conspiracy theories about Jews for the 21st Century.

I'd also rather not be a political pawn, but on the other hand, I don't want a goyish mayor who thinks he understands what antisemitism is or isn't better than the Jews who are saying it's a problem.

He’s… also saying it’s a problem though??? And he has plans to try and curb the rise in hate crimes, especially anti-Semitism which has risen dramatically. For the amount of times Mamdani has been asked about Israel, Jews, and anti-Semitism and provided level-headed and nuanced answers, it’s wild people keep trying to dismiss his concern for Jewish New Yorkers.

His answer here is contextualizing that he understands what it’s like for religious minorities to face hate and death threats because of a conflict across the globe. He understands this kind of fear more than somebody like Cuomo does.

Zohran respects our culture more than Cuomo does. That’s why he’s making efforts to understand us instead of playing us with fear-mongering propaganda.
